@Andy_P

If you've read this thread you'll see that a number of people have suffered from poor keyboards and screen issues with the TyTN - on the other hand very few people have complained about faulty P990 hardware. I respect your view but I myself have to return 2 TyTNs.

yes, ill be honest ive only flicked through this thread as i never thought id get one, but i did see others' hardware problems. was this just early adopters from other networks? my tmob is a HT634x and i havent had any problems, although my 990 has only crashed once so far too so maybe i have a bit more luck as i can't be arsed to fiddle with them too much yet.

im just gutted that i always seem to know how to get straight to the function i want on the tytyn using the buttons, but with the 990 u dont even get all the arrow keys (flipoff) and the jogdial feels woefully innadequate compared to the previous pxx0's ive had

believe me, i really want to love the 990, but im not feeling it yet.

For anyone who has a Vodafone V1605, what deals did you squeeze out of Vodafone for it? They offered it me for £100 as an upgrade on my £30pm contract with free weekend calls, 500 texts/25MB of data, and 200 mins. I'm sure they can do better than this. They offered it me free in the Vodafone store on a new connection!

TYTN Hardware Issues

1. My 2 day old Voda 1605's stylus got stuck today so i had to pull it really hard to get it back out, i then put it back in and it was really stiff and hard to get back out.. but when it did come back out, it also pull out some piece of rubber now the stylus is really lose.

2. Also, compared to my previous HT628, the slideout keyboard is really loose.

Is it really hard to come by a Tnyn that works.

@bbsara - was your phone a new connection to Vodafone or an upgrade, and do you mind saying what you paid?

Thanks PTM

It was an upgrade.

I paid £0 as my phone bill is around 150-200 sometimes a month.

i think it's a stupid idea to compare the mighty sonyericsson with a nobody like htc...no matter how many features the htc phone has it can never beat the p990i at popularity or at sales.

SE are so 'mighty' that their flagship phone was nearly 6 months delayed! It is still not yet available to the majority of UK phone users as it is only released with one of four major networks, and in the US it is unlikely to become avaiable on mass at all.

it's an insult to compare p990 to tytn, try both the tytn and p990 before making those remarks that's what I did, the way s.e. is heading the p1000 (when it is released) probably can't do the things the tytn can.

first batch aside the build quality on the tytn is excellent,
and it looks so friggin small for all the things it does it's not even funny , also someone mentioned it can't access, http mail, I can access my yahoo and hotmail internet accounts just fine, I log into them just like I log into them on my desktop.

remember s.e. was a smalll company like htc was, it's their products that give them the reputaion not the other way around.
