Buying it in London, UK is only part of the equation.

Did you get it simfree, or on a contract? If the latter, with who? If VF (and it had a VF seal on the box) then y ou have a branded handset, in which case you can't (currently) update to the R7A firmware.

Why? Different operators have varying requirements and settings they want on the handset (i.e. data settings, to reduce initial set-up by user), so these will result in different firmware.

Thanks

If it's simfree, the downloading the SEUS client from the website and installing will allow you to download and update the fimrware on your P990i.

Is it me or does anyone else feel that the phone software seems to degrade after time? I am seeing more and more errors now, more and more crashes, then when i first did the update. I have no 3rd party applications.

Also anyone have the same bug where you can change the volume when listening to your voicemail....

@Gabster

Strange, since the last firmware upgrade a few weeks ago I've only had one instance where I needed to re-start my P990. I have a few third-party apps and I do some beta testing and my P990 is no less stable than before.

Welcome to the club, my phone feels like is't downgrading too. I have no 3rd party applications except for the Sman.

Yesterday I dialled a number , and I had to press "2"when the operator answered, everythime I pressed "2" my phone had restarted itself for better performance. This number used to work fine about a week ago

Mine is getting worse it has now developed a calendar fault that means whenever I try open the calendar ( it takes up to 60 seconds to respond!) it defaults to 1st Oct 2001! then after two or three goes will eventualy go to todays date! Expensive (for some) toy yes, dependable business tool? not for a long while yet!

woow ,

The things are getting worse. Maybe we're fiddling too much with our phones, maybe we should leave them alone, just use it for making making/answering calls until the new FW is released.
