I recently got a C905 and debranded the Vodafone firmware to the current up to date generic english/UK firmware R1DA032.

I have the conversation/SMS chat facility.

Either it's a regional issue or you guys who can't find it are looking in the wrong place.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but to get into conversation/SMS chat you select Menu/Messaging. Then select Inbox. Once viewing the Inbox there are two tabs across the top of the screen. Slide to the 2nd tab using the directional pad to select conversation/SMS chat mode.

Hope this help or confirms if there are regional issues.

@luwi: I'm also having that trouble, it just sucks when you need to occasionally check email and have to reenter the network settings.

More information for you guys...

Apart from the problems I had with getting ALL the features in this firmware (see post on previous page) I have the following comparisons to make with the latest firmware now i have everything working:

WiFi is worse (mine worked fine before)
menus are slower apart from the main menu, which is the quicker/same?
Video playback is worse, misses a second of video and you just hear sound, why this is, your guess is as good as mine!

Battery life is a lot better (maybe this is why the phone is slower in places?)

conversations menu is excellent
smile shutter works how it should
youtube app is worse compared to going to m.youtube.com in the browser. reasons: quality of videos are worse and half of them dont play at all!

gps assisted start still use mobile internet even if setting is on 'home network only'. To stop this, the option must be turned to 'never'. Without assisted start it will be hard to connect! With it connects within seconds!
NearMe works fine
Tracker works fine, nice little circuit i made earlier today
built-in snapfish - its there as promised and connects to the website, so it must work lol

scrolling through camera album in portrait is really quick! landscape is a lot slower than previous firmwares (this is in FULLSCREEN btw)

my latest firmware is 1205-9083 R1DA032 WESTERN-EUROPE

Ok guys, I read most pages of this section but being over 40 pages long is getting big!! LOL

I updated with the update (or so I thought) and got these applications.

- Smile Shutter
- Tracker

Haven't got
- Youtube
- Walkmate
- NearMe
- Snapfish
- Converstations

I debranded from Orange (6 hours after coming out of the shop, record for me since its the 4th contract and 4th SE phone lol) so I'm guessing I might've picked the wrong software choice as I get the Carphone Warehouse Navigator?

Software Details (shown on software version on the phone)
1205-9079
R1DA032
090204
SonyEricsson

Any ideas guys? Would love to get the rest of the features, especially walkmate as it will be useful for me and NearMe.

Just why are we all getting different kind of applications on the "same" firmware version?! What's going on?

Any news about the next? Gosh!

I guess some features really were location-dependent. I just don't have the conversation style. and snapfish. anyways, is there a way to have those features without changing cdas and firmwares?

For the conversation style SMS, simply upload:

http://www.4shared.com/file/9[....]e_upgrade_enable_chat_sms.html

using A2 Uploader to tpa/preset/custom.
