I thing Satio is better in daylight despite the noise, exposure setting shortcut is directly avaible on the screen (not in the advanced settings like the N8). For night/low light pics N8 is much better.
The problem is to buy a N8 without the blurry areas in the pics problem, apparently it's difficult and it's real, don't deny the evidence !
I thing the colours is a bit too cold or sometimes washed out (the excuse of natural colors seems exaggerated).
The video recording is very good.
Exept that the N8 is better than Satio for everything else.

In the extreme right side but it seems not very visible on yours fornutately.
Yes i trust you for the vivid mode.
I hesitate a bit to replace my satio by n8 (I'm sick of the resistive screen lol)
The web browser is not very good.
I will see next month for N8 or not.

my sister got the n8 today. The phone itself is pretty good a hell of a lot better than the satio which i have. The n8 is a lot more stable and the screen is a lot better than the satio picturewise also its capacitive. But the n8 itself isn't really much me a difference than the satio. Same ui still slow(has fancy animations that take up time). Overall the n8 is better but he you want something different from the satio them the n8 isn't for you. I would reccomend android or iphone or black berry. P.s. The camera on the n8 is very good, a lot better than the satio

just to add.. the GPS on the N8 is by far the best GPS i have ever used.
and that includes all standalone dedicated GPS hardware as well.
between the GPS and the camera abilities, its worth its weight in gold for me.

Vit, does it really matter, take a look at my night time comparions again.
N8 vs Satio
Ive not seen any cameraphone shoot so well in the dark before with little or no knowledge of how to set the phone up. I have the knowledge, but simply used basic settings.
Hi etaab,
I think Vit is talking about taking artistic nighttime photos, or blurring cars, lights, etc.. you cannot do this unless you can slow the shutter down enough, which may be impossible with N8 right now, as I cannot even get a 1/2 sec shutter speed.
I don't think taking a "regular" night time photo is the concern here.

Yes, Jake, you got it right.
IN FACT, I am almost giving up of buying the N8 because of that. I am seriously into night photography and, even though I own a full-fledged DSLR, I like the idea of having a phone thatīs capable of shooting reasonably good twilight landscapes @ lower ISO speeds.
I am already getting in touch with Damian Dinning (the man responsible for the N8 camera) in order to get this thing right. Thatīs truly a waste of potential.
In fact, the pictures that Nokia ( Haje Jan Kamps ) has put here are just crap!

Heh, remember Apple's saying, theres an app for that..
Just like a couple of years ago if the phone was missing a function someone could make an app for it. For example, the N95 did not geo-tag pictures, but by downloading LocationTagger from the app store it became possible. So im sure an app to give more options when shooting in low light isnt impossible.
@ jake20 - well Nokia finally got their arses into gear and called me back this lunchtime, they said it takes 3 - 5 days for the returns documents to be sent to me, then when i send it back they will take up to 48 hours to validate the device malfunction then ship me a replacement. So hopefully this time next week or by Friday of next week i will have a replacement N8.
I was seriously thinking of just keeping the phone and using a stereo Bluetooth headset rather than getting the 3.5mm jack fixed.
@ davidsic - you are probably the very last person on Esato i would have expected to say they prefer the faker colours of the Satio over the true colour representation of the N8 and its pictures.
And as for blurry pictures and denying the evidence.. what evidence ? i still dont see any blurry areas in my pictures or anyone elses !
