I believe they have replaced 557 and 363 formnew ones, obviusly similar.
"More impressive is the fact that Sony has upgraded all camera module sensors to stacked CMOS (Exmor RS) sensors, with faster sensor readout rates. Like the Xperia Pro, the main 24mm camera module sports sensor readout rates faster than 10ms, while the 16mm and 70/105mm telephoto modules now also have fast readout rates, albeit slightly longer than 10ms."

363 and 557 are already Exmor RS.
Stacked cmos = BSI, 2 layers, no DRAM.

The telephoto sensor was definitely upgraded but the ultrawide looks like having the same exact sensor, IMX363, though I noticed a slight difference in size,
1/2.6" vs 1/2.55", which looks the same to me
Anyhow, what am I blattering about sensor size.
Back in the Z1 to Z2 days, Sony had the largest sensor size in mobile but no one gave a damn about it
.
1 iii isn't exactly phenomenal but it is well-rounded and surely has a lot to offer.

Let's hope they focused on software this year. Maybe they got more out from the sensors.

I am comfused if 20fps is just wide again or all three.
Considering 5iii is already here, we can go to 1 iv rumors and wishlist.
I bet they are already working on making periscope longer than 105mm.

"Maximum calculations will depend on shooting environment. Up to x60 calculations per second AF/AE is available for 24mm, 16mm, 70mm and the 105mm lens can calculate up to 30fps AF/AE"
Now I'm confused too

This means main can do 20fps + 60 AF/AE, while the other two half of this, like 1ii.
I suppose..

A nice summary of the differences and new features.
"Maximum fps will depend on shooting environment and settings. Up to 20fps continuous shooting with AF/AE is available for the 24mm lens. The 16mm, 70mm and 105mm lenses can shoot up to 10fps AF/AE."
From 1iii product page.
I also noticed the red shirt tennis player's first photo kinda looks out of focus. When the other pours water on his head, the shadows are lifted way to much it greys out the image.
105mm
dog photo looks like a digital zoom, the fur looks a bit like oil painting.

The photos are very compressed, have to wait for gsmarena or maybe YouTube review.
This picture is interesting, bokeh with dog in motion?

The Xperia 1iii seems very underwhelming to say the least.
I expected it to be underwhelming but not on this level.
It isn't that bad compared to the 2021 flagships.
Just not that outstanding enough to attract/sway customers from choosing Xperia over others.
It's even very competitive against the S21 series, not that those are phenomenal either by any means, right.
I just wished they have changed the ultrawide and instead put a larger sensor.
I think I jumped to conclusion too fast.
I'm pretty impressed now tbh
.
I went to see the presentation and it changed my mind.
The Xperia 5 III green one reminds me a little bit of the Xperia Z3 compact green, which I found quite a looker back then.
