New joiners should HAVE TO read the thread from the beginning so we are more or less talking about something having more or less the same background.
Someone should work on such forum app: it would let you see the page number 2 of a thread only after you have spent a certain amount of time on page 1 and so on.

The P1 isn't the P990's successor.
You can think of the P1 as a new branch of the UIQ touchscreen (a mix between a M600 and P990) family tree.
There have been rumours of a true successor to the M600. It was said to be cancelled and lately the rumour came back from the dead, but nothing more than that.
As for the P990's little brother, you could expect something to be announced in Q4 2007 and to be released in 2008.

Hmm I'm not a single bit interested in the P990i's littlebrother - it's the bigbrother that's interersting
Still hope that they'll show something the 14'th that hasn't been shown here on esato already - the chance is little I'm afraid...
And that it will be my new replacement for my trusty P900 - if not the P1i certainly looks sweet but I just dont know if I can get along with the keys - maybe I just need the flip to sms and make phonecalls? It's just that the size of the P1i is so very nice - small just for the pocket

It looks matured, refined and powerful. And i bet the build quality will be very very high. Nice solid glossy finishes etc.
