Greetings.
My name is Louie and i am long time sufferer of the dreaded SE p990.
After reading MANY forums and experiencing the same problems as all of you, and even MORE problems with latest firmware, i have decided that a class action law suit is called for.
I have finally sent my p990 into SE for warranty service, as they said that "something" may be having a hardware conflict. We will see.
What i do find a problem with forums such is this is that everyone loves to vent their problems with each other, but how many of you actually call SE or send there phone in for support ?
I feel that SE can not care any less if no one contacts them.
This i feel is a mistake on our part. Complaining to each other will not fix these FW issues.
Now, it is illegal for a manufacturer to create software that will actually harm your product, such as a FW update that causes MORE problems then what the phone already has. And we all know that each FW created not only does NOT fix prior problems, but actually creates more problems.
If you purchase a crappy phone on the other hand, that doesn't work, then its your choice to return it. But as mentioned, if you use the manufacturer's recommended software and it harms your product, then there is a pending lawsuit.
The p990 is not a teenagers phone, 99% of us purchased this phone for its potential capabilities, with a few exceptions, like myself, that are just tech junkies and need every new item or the best phone out there money can buy. Thus, these phones are for business people, and technically your business is suffering from a product you purchased and come with no support from it manufacturer to fix these bugs.
I therefore propose a class action lawsuit against Sony Ericsson's for providing recommended software that actually renders our phones useless for all intensive purposes.
I only belong to this one forum, and i only subscribed to post this thread, however , i am sure many of you readers belong to other forums or have connections with other p990 users elsewhere. please copy or re post this posting appropriately.
since i am new to forums such as this, i call on a more experienced user to properly gather information on other p990 users or if any lawyers out there want to take this upon them self to put this together. Doing this on my own having never filled a lawsuit could take time. So if there is any other experienced persons please speak up.
Its about time we put an end to this p990 nightmare and demand satisfaction from SE.

Have you tried to format the memory card using your phone?

Is it true that the P990 doesn't have a VoIP stack?
