Forgive me for saying what a thousand other people will be thinking happykhan, but you seriously need to start at page one. Your question has been asked and answered more times than I can even count.
Instead of the old spoon feeding, take some time out and browse the thread right from the start
There is a ton of useful information from some very smart people (not me though, I'm as dumb as a hammer) - be a geek, it'll be well worth your effort.
In short, the answer is yes, but it's far better if you work for the knowledge yourself in the end. Not only can you swap your firmware, but you can tweak your sms storage limit, swap out those tired old icons, add new certificates, etc, etc, etc... I hope I don't sound like a rude and insensitive bum, though the answers are literally staring you in the face.

i start the davinci then turn off my phone, and then plug my cable...
davinci stated that windows will detect a new device and install the EPIUSB.. but windows is not detecting any unknown devices...

The first time i tried editing pref_store.txt in order to expand the sms memory, suddenly far manager closed and the next time the txt file was gone.
i created a new pref_store.txt file and only typed : "/tpa" and then checked sms memory with myphoneexplorer but still no change.
what's my mistake?what should i do?
