@i.o

Yeh i have all the settings correct and have my username and password entered and nothing. I guess i can live without the PLUS service as i would only use the TomTom to help me get from A - B.

Thanks for your help

This may sound like a daft question but can I connect my Bluetooth GPS receiver and Bluetooth Car Kit to my P990i at the same time and get them to perform as if they were independently connected?

Hello. I'll want tou know if you'll have a soluce to keep traffic info free after the month of test. My soluce, to remove all on the memory stick don't work. It's impossible to activate tomtom plus on tomtom.com. It say, the month test it's finish. Have you a soluce for me...Thank you by advance...

@artesea,
maybe it is a 700 not sure!
Thanks for the info, I am arguing with Wayfinder over chargable extras not working now!

The big diffrence between wayfinder and tomtom is that wayfinder download the maps on the fly when you are out and driving and TomTom has tha maps locally installed on the mem chip. Thus making the drawing of maps much faster than wayfinder.. The upgrade cost for maps are something you need to do perhaps every second or thrice year if you want to have the latest maps, tip is to check the official site for what the changes are in the map version, if it have been added an lot of roads in country Z and nothing in country Y, and you live in country Y and never planning on visiting country Z perhaps you can wait one more version of the maps

Myself are running TomTom 6 with an wayfinder bluetooth GPS

Hej Scorpan,

Have you ever used the wayfinder sw? I would be interested in getting a direct comparison as to which system is best?

Wayfinder have now kindly refunded me for both the traffic and speed camera upgrades.

But I am still keen to have a system that will warn me of speed cameras, the Wayfinder system only warns you of cameras in a general 1 Kilometre range and it seems to miss most of those! and the Cyclops upgrade does not help at all.

Do you have to use a dedicated memory stick to use Tom Tom, or can you just copy the maps you want to use to your own Duo Pro, and load the software to the phone memory, how much space does it use?

Can't comment on WayFinder. But I've got a 4GB Memory Stick Duo which is reguarly used for MP4 and MP3 and has the maps of UK and Ireland.
I get the latest speed cameras from PocketGPSWorld who have the whole country covered (updates come from the users themselves, so extremly acurate).
I can choose between one icon saying Speed Camera, or have the full 30 odd icons telling me what type of camera it is and what the speed limit is. Use that with the ogg files from the site and you can get vocal warnings as well!
it only costs £2 a month (or less for the year), or if you don't do long journeys frequently, you can buy the new cameras when you need them.

So if I get this right I just buy Tom Tom Navigator 6 on DVD and load the maps to my 4 Gb Duo Pro?
How much is the PocketGPSWorld sw? and am I correct in understanding that it fully integrates with Tom Tom Navigator or do I have to run the two applications simultaniously?

I will put my wayfinder subscription on my W950

There is no software for PocketGPSWorld, you just download the files from their website and put them in your map folder.

I'm using tom tom with the P990, use it daily and find in so so so much better than wayfinder.. i down loaded the files from this thread some time ago via 'fatreg' post. the only thing i've noticed are the uk maps a old and hence cannot find certain streets...

Can any one post a link where i can obtain updated UK maps?

The only other downside i've found with tom tom is that i originally thought it could search with just the post code, rather than having to type in the post code and street name !?
