@Tigershark42: Yeah I've given up searching now as I can't find it. But I'm sure I've seen a site that had more than the link I just gave you. Its annoying, I don't even remember how I got to the site last time!

It showed a few more pictures, like one of what might have been writing an email or something. But it probably wasn't as much as you want to see.

Thanks again for the attempt m8, but I dont think we will be full content until we see an in depth review to confirm all the ins and outs of the device. Im sure it will be good. I personally see nothing at all wrong with WM6, looks really good to me, if its anything like that on the HTC devices (depends how much scope there is for themes, difference because of screen resolution, etc).

No problem mate

Can someone tell me, on a WM6 device, is it possible to upgrade to WM7 through a firmware upgrade or something? Maybe something like upgrading a PC from XP to Vista?

It depends on (a) the hardware requirements of the new version, and (b) the hardware manufacturer (in this case SE). They would have to provide a ROM update - you can't just buy the new OS from Microsoft and install it.

HTC have done this before - they released free WM6 upgrades for certain WM5 handsets - but as those two versions were quite close in many ways, the older phones had no great problem running the newer software. That might be different in the case of WM7, if it's a bigger jump, but then again SE/HTC may know the requirements of WM7 in advance and have designed their hardware accordingly.

Of course there are people at XDA Developers and elsewhere who are quite capable of "cooking" up new ROMs for these devices regardless of what HTC or Sony decide to release... so if it's possible to run WM7 on an X1, somebody will make it happen in due course

I would guess a WM6-->WM7 upgrade won't happen. From what I've seen, it's too radically different for any easy update.

Though, as a top-line model, the X1 may have the power to run the new OS. But it's up to technical limitations and then SE itself.

The Iphone imho cannot be compaed to the xi.....the xi is miles away from it.
This is a well rounded device and smartphone.
The iphone has a lot of catching up to do...User Interface is just a tiny part of a smartphone (i dont think its a smart phone anyway, just a play thing)
The one good thing going for the iphone is good marketing, which SE needs loads of

well then an extraordinary capable mediacentric phone. with the upcoming SDK sure someone will write an script to read excel sheet, word docs and so on and so it will be more "buisness". buisnesphones have besides the software stuff other things they must do , long bat life, changeable bat, useable I/O things, operable as a softmodem if needed and so on and on. but in terms of useabillty its unbeatble.

the panels seem very handy because they are short cuts to various menuepoints, but still no change of the "look&feel" i guess...a WMphone at least. "used one ..used everyone"

I think one of the liltle circles on the right or left of the speaker is a secondary camera for video call.
