@yanyanyan881. dont you understand..... THIS IS A THREAD THERE YOU POST YOUR PHOTOS, OF COURSE YOU POST THEM SHRINKED. WHATS THE POINT TO POST FULL SIZE (just some link to imageshack, etc). PEOPLE WANT/LIKE TO SEE THE PICTURE HERE AND NOW, NOT VIA SOME LINK.

THIS IS A THREAD FOR POSTING C902 PICTURES, NOT SOME "POST YOUR FULL SIZE PICTURES".

That's right. This thread is about posting resized photos. However do not judge its quality, compare with other cam phones and ...... based on resized photos. with exception of colours.

i happy with 002. (sooooo many times i have uppdate or dpy-flash to newer fw but i didnt need it).. 002 works like a clock, and have nearlly perfect color-reproduction.........thats why

just look at the picture above.. no color profiles, plain auto

I guess that's fair enough if you're happy with it! I'm getting a C902 and when mine arrives I think I will update, just to have the very latest firmware.

yeh you do that. (its one thing whos little better with latest fw, and thats super clear close-up pictures on people...like this one:

002 dosent have this extra little twist on the quality on portrait, but 002 produce little clearer ordinary pictures... so its little hard to choose i guess

edit.. just one tip before you uppdate your phone. USE EMMA ! (go to your local shop and DPY-flash it... i "allways" do that, and the phone ALLWAYS works little faster & better)

Not if you want to know the true quality of a camera. 1024x768 is NOT the whole picture. It's only 15 percent of the whole picture. What about the remaining 85 percent you throw away? If you never use the full size of your photos, why bother buying a 5 MP camera (phone)???

.........

Very true. Resized pics are too small to see individual faces and details of buildings and cars. If 1024x768 is enough, why would anyone buy 8MP true digital camera. They buy them becoz they want to view the pics in full size seeing the amazing details.

..........

i think you are a little bit wrong about this one.

for the first part...: that 85 percent is not thrown away when you resize the picture... the extra pixels take part in correcting the final pixel on the resized pic. ( i hope you get what i'm trying to say ) i mean the final pixel on the 1024x768 one is an average of the whole pixels on the same area on the 5MP one... and this means sharper edges... less noise and etc on the resized one...!

for the second part.... no man i just don't shoot pictures with my 7.2MP digicam just to zoom them on picture viewer to see a bee on the 10 meters away flower and then be amazed and happy................

although high quality on 5 or 8 MP pictures has benefits such as a better quality crops of the original pictures and the most important one ... Printing.

btw... do you knw that in the art of photography sometimes you need to take 10+ pictures of the same object to get the optimal quality... it's a rule

I assume that you are still talking about the Photos gallery. You think those people visiting the gallery and then click on the full size link actually want to see your edited (resized and what else?) photos? I think that's wrong and that most people want to see what the photos look like straight from the camera, to judge camera quality. That's what the full size link is for.
Didn't you notice the instructions you get when clicking the upload button? This system is semiautomatic and require that your phone pictures are unmodified and not altered in any graphics editing software.

This thread is for resized photos while the gallery is for full size unedited photos. If you can't help yourself but have to shrink and edit your photos then post them here - not the gallery.

I know that. But shrinking a 5 MP photo to 0.7 MP definitely leads a big loss of detail, assuming of course a good camera, detail that can't be recovered.

No, but it helps to judge the quality, if any, of the camera (phone).
And regarding your comment about zooming, this is of course not possible on a camphone of lesser quality as the CMOS NR kills that kind of fine detail.
