Not if they have other, bigger things in line for global release shortly after.

To be honest I'm losing faith in the future of Sony Mobile to compete. I want them to but I may be getting a Mi5 128GB. It is exactly what Sony should have released this month.

I definitely think the M5 is worth a consideration. It takes great shots from what I have seen.
The display is good too with warmer colours compared to the Z3 I have (My own observation). Performance wise, it's close to the Z3.

The Xperia X Performance is only coming to Asia. Unless you're planning on paying high shipping import fees, the best Xperia you could get would be the X. The question is, would it be worth waiting until after IFA2016 for Sony's 2016 flagship phone, if you could wait until then?

so you are saying Sony is lying about the coming soon?

It would seem that Sony have now added an additional region, since MWC2016, in that case. Too bad that they didn't include the UK.

you are saying gb website must be lying as well? look at the bottom

Are you saying that the Sony Xperia X Performance will definitely come to the UK?

Sony UK lists them on the official website and you said they don't include UK?

I'm not the only one who has heard that the X Performance is not coming to the UK. If you look through the different media coverage or at Xperiablog, you'll see that it is not: http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]not-heading-to-germany-and-uk/

carrier not listing it doesn't mean it won't come to that country. US carrier doesn't list any. it all depends on Sony. Carrier listing simply adds another sales channel, but carrier is not the only channel

I've seen two reports now of Snapdragon 823, which might just be a slightly higher-clocked version of 820...

The first report suggested that this will be the SoC of choice for Xiaomi Mi Note 2, the second one is for HTC 10 Mini (4.7", 4GB RAM, looks like Compact competitor )

So do you guys think that Sony might be targeting this SoC for anything they might hide in IFA ?

both Xiaomi and HTC reports 2H16 timing, with HTC being more specific at September timeframe...

HTC 10 mini was a April Fools joke. They probably took the idea of SD823 from the Mi Note 2 rumor. Most likely false rumor. Qualcomm announces new SoCs many months before official release, they wouldn't miss a flagship one.

Regardless if the 823 soc is real or not, I feel Sony doesn't need to upgrade to it, the 820 is more than adequate enough as an soc and it would be better to have another device on the 820 platform to ease with updates than introducing another Soc.
