I think D too, mostly due to the lowlight performance ha. it's characteristically Sony, I think.

Clove shipped the Xperia XZ Premium to me on June 1, I got it the next day in NYC. Couldn't be happier. Got the free speaker too. Excellent.

Going to take the phone out now on this 70f sunny day and compare shots with the pixel and iPhone 7. Will post links here.

My phone is sitting in NYC right now. I won't get it til Monday unfortunately. Next time I order from Clove I'll probably be living in NYC so I should be getting it the next day just like you.

So jealous! Look forward to seeing your impressions and the photo comparisons. I am kinda looking forward to that little bluetooth speaker. It's not the best out there, but it seems like it'll do nicely as a bedroom music speaker.

@XJ & alinefx - have either of you noticed the alleged distortion in camera or the white lines in video playback ? I'm gonna guess no but just thought i'd ask

@moogoo I've had no issues at all. However I did think my phone was faulty as it didn't charge at all through the night, turns out I hadn't turned the socket on at the wall.

Haven't had any distortions yet using the video playback. I'll keep you posted if I run into it. I guess the most disappointing thing about 4K now is that it's beginnint to look "normal", ie you don't get that terrific excitement you did when you played 4K like you did on the Xperia Z5. The other thing also is that there is no indication on when HDR content is playing on the phone, even though I've put in original HDR content on the SD card and played it thru the video app. Netflix does not have any HDR options right now, and it's hard to tell whether the Amazon Prime feed is showing me 4K HDR. I'll take some screenshots of content and paste it here for opinions.

while on my walk outside with 3 smartphones (iPhone 7, Google Pixel and Xperia XZP), I found the Sony over sharpens most of the images, but sometimes it looks like the most lifelike. Usually the pixel wins out, the camera on that is just much better than this one, much as I hate to admit it. I've been using Sony smartphone since 2001, so I'm pretty much vested and keep my faith in Sony most of the time, to the detriment of my wallet.

However in some cases, the Sony is better than the iPhone. The camera starts up faster than the XZ, and the Selfies are much better than both the pixel and the iPhone 7, primarily to the large 13-megapixel front sensor.

Battery life on my 90-minute walk took the battery from 94% down to 53%, but I was streaming FLAC via Bluetooth (ldac set to preferred) the whole way, along with YouTube background streaming, taking HD & 4K video and taking camera shots to compare with the other two. I was also texting and making calls as well. Considering all that, along with the screen on time probably 40% of the time, I would say the battery is terrific.

My XZ didn't serve me too well. On the other hand nor did I treat it too well

Too many drops on the ground without any protection and my microphone is apparently messed up now

Next week will be like Christmas Eve for me
