I have had (me & madam) this nokia n71 for about 3 weeks & i'm not impressed. The high price of this device means that it is supposed to offer premium quality. The device is slow, screen produces scratch after 2 or 3 days.low internal memory (10mb) though 128mb mini sd card is included. The os is S60 3rd edition so older applications do not work. Albeit, installed symbian does not work after a day(it has to be re-installed).
Nevertheless, the device has some excellent features- The nokia web browser is exquisite but when you think of data cost you will go back to opera mini. The media player has support for eAAC and mp4. Device has a document viewer. Large screen. Has 3g and EDGE.
In conclusion, i would prefer a SE of equivalent price.
NB: I CALLED IT A DEVICE

@pxthomas: And I liked the look of the N71 when it was announced but in all honesty it's a crap phone...too big, too slow and not enough bang for your buck. That's one of the reasons this phone is not being released in South Africa.

@easydee. . .my brother i have not tasted vmobile gprs. now they are talking of 3g. They should not deceive us.
The best thing for vmobile is to be acquired by a big multinational that will inject life into the company. They are just struggling. I hope they make it

@AYA: the T68i goes for 5k, the s55 goes for 9k, the T610i is 11k. Which set are we to say should be pitted against the other?
I agree that the 3G is gonna be expensive. If the 2.5G services ar this costly, wht else is there to expect? At least with the arrival of 3G in Lag, Abj and mostlikely PH, there will be more 2.5 for us that are managing 2.0!!! If they give 3G sevices for free for 6months im sure a few of us will close eye and dole out 10k a month to continue!!!! Nigerians and our status symbols!!!!!!
@pxth: sorry, but your another Nokia victim!!!! Nokia has an excellent marketing team that pushes its phones.

vmobile has just changed its settings to celtel, i mean its Gprs settings, i guess thats all they wanna fix not 3G that you guys are talkin about, vmobile is still the best, take it or leave it, slow and steady wins the race, MTN just cut down her projected subscriber base! Why? Cos they re rushing no where, and their network capacity is suffering. Well i guess the celtel settings correctly this moment and i just posted with it.

@easydee, @pxt, @namzo: I fail to understand your dissatisfaction with Vmobile/celtel gprs service, I for one have enjoyed its availability for over 8months, and not paid a dime for it. Only today, they completed maintenance work on their gprs networks, and have given out new apn's. Right now, I'm getting like 14kb/s constant download speed for FREE, can you beat that? Yes, the service does not cover the country, but they aren't earning a penny for it yet, so why spend money on infrastructure that isnt paying?
To cap it all they've surprised me by upgrading to 3G. If you aren't pleased with what you are getting on Vmobile/Celtel, switch to MTN or Glo its as simple as that.
@Aya: E61? where is 9500? Make you no chop alone o, I know you when you never make money o
