@ da brixsta,
LOL, I suppose it could've been worse if they had repeated their first inning's batting 'performance'.
As one AOL journalist generalised a few months back before the current Tri-Nations, "SA sport fans can be notoriously fickle"... but I've always believed in giving credit where credit is due: Murali was in a class of his own.
Yeah, I am very proudly South African and national sport can be such an extremely strong, unifying entity...even when I think back to the (un-)welcoming party that the Bafana Bafana had after their unceremonial exit from the African Cup of Nations...
@ Siosal, great to have you around these parts again.
@ Rhino8,
Good luck with the solo online venture, boet.

@amawanqa:
I never left. But actually writing a post is really tough when a: you have way too much work. b: you have a sporadic internet connection and c: when every single site you go to (especially easto), requires you to enter your username and password everytime you change the page thanks to a stupid server.
*grumble*

@ Siosal,
There are times when I have similar problems to the three you mentioned, hence my light-hearted 'weird artform' comment a good few posts back.
Albeit that you never left, it's great that you've managed to contribute to this thread again; as has been mentioned before and as we both know, we can all learn from one another by sharing perspectives, information and thoughts.... whenever possible and/or applicable.

@Rhino8: Good luck with your new venture...I could probably start up a wapsite but couldn't possibly find the time.
@da wanqsta: I think I mentioned this before but I can remember back in the mid to late 90s I would get seriouslydepressed whenever South Africa lost a vital game against either India or the Olde Enemy- Australia.

@ da brixtsa,
I've never got myself seriously depro about any SA loss (disappointed,yes...but I soon get over these things), but I have to admit that that semi-final tie with Australia, which led to our exit from the cricket world cup in England in '99(remember the surreal Donald/Klusener run-out?) was the most bitter of all SA sporting loss pills for me to swallow...bar none.
As Steve Waugh, as Oz captain back then, actually admitted after that match, " I almost felt sorry for South Africa."

@Soisal: Those are some interesting facts...regular readers of this thread would know that I watched Ben Hur some six weeks ago and I didn't notice any car during that chariot race scene...maybe they digitally removed it. Brilliant move nontheless.
@da wanqsta: Haven't been depressed about SA sports in a long time. Even Bafana Bafana can't depress me...when they lose by fewer then three goals I actually feel that we should applaud them.
