Yep W800 4 life!! I'm seriously missing the play/pause button on my w890. That button turns your phone into a mp3 player, without it its just a phone that plays music. waiting for a200 to get hacked.

londonlad- you mean the walkman button on the side doesn't work the same way the play/pause button does? I thought it did...

Nope it doesnt. It works like the Walkman button on the front of the w800. So it only opens the Walkman player and minimizes it. It doesnt start playing the music. I miss being able to start listening to music by pressing play/pause twice when the keypad is locked without having to look at my phone.
That was one of the best music features that Se Walkmans had.

oh -that's bad then.
maybe they think labeling the center of the d-pad eith the play/ pause logo makes up fot it -but it doesn't since you srill have to unlock the keypad to use it!
I really love this function on my k750. I can survive it not being on cybershots, but what a downgrade to the walkman range- considering nokia just realized this could be practical with the 5300 and 5310 models. It seems sony ericsson always comes with something really innovative but then drops it a couple generations later- the moment other companies start catching up to it...

Does nokia 5300 and 5310 have this feature?
Yeah its a shame Se removes good software ideas. I found it hard to choose an upgrade because of little things of this, but my w800 joystick started to give up.

i reckon for the k850 i they could easily implement using firmware...they could use the camera shutter button when the switch is on media player to act as a play / pause button!!! ..... wish newer firmwares use that idea!!

Thats what I'm after, being able to play music by pressing one button while the keypad is locked without looking, which is the ease I became use to thanks to w800. Shame that nokia is a really ugly looking phone though.

There is a better way to control your music player
I have the MBW-150 watch (executive edition) and it's able to control the music player.
Changing loudness, skipping tracks, play and pause are very convenient and easy to handle. Even the track name is shown in the small and sharp OLED-Display.
Incoming calls and sms or mails are also shown on the display.
A nice feature as well is the distance warning that can be used to not forget the phone alone @ home
