I made several tests and cant saw different in quality or noise only in save time

I agree that the saving time will be longer but I disagree with the quality and noise. I can see the differences as the bit/pixle is improved. Higer compression will give better quality. Maybe this is wrong and I have no document/proof for this so far,why don't everyone try it?

cam_ss_jpeg_buf_size_8=96500;

seq_set_prop_5_1=$z0
$s2 5f

$c0 08 #SET_JPEG_MIN(01,9f) #SET_JPEG_MAX(02,60) #SET_JPEG_AVG(02,24) #SET_JPEG_QUALITY

n00b question but can you modders try 15+ fps video at 128x96?

K800 is looking good at the moment as the K750/W800 replacement because no 30fps recording was the let down for me but now even 35fps works when recording at 176x144.

@Raiderski &lpachuong
long time back when I released my 0.9 lots of people loved it and the size of the pics was around 400-600 then I created 0.9 with zuza size and the pics were 200-350 but no one like it and they said the quality of the pics are not like the original 0.9

....... ^.^

Actually I haven't done much. Most of the things are done by Raiderski ^'.'^ (my new emotion )

@Darkmagician: The compression is difficult to understand. As you know the word 'compression' means making thing smaller. However, when you increase the compression on the camera, the pictures seem getting bigger So, how can we understand compression?

-Compression affects two things: rate of compression and bit compressed/pixel - colour depth (2 main features I pay attention to). The rate of compression will help the pictures get smaller size; meanwhile the bigger bits/pixel, the better quality the pictures are (bits/pixel includes the information of colours and details of a pixel).
- Therefore, the big size of a pictures doesn't mean that the pictures get good quality and the same as small size picture. We may get small size picture but high bit/pixel and that is super rather than so big size but low quality.(i'm trying to play with it on another camera module)
- You can test by yourself and if you check ur memory stick, u may see most of the big size pictures have overexposure between black/white, good quality or too much green. Low size pictures also happens with overexposure and blurness. This is no good at all ^}^
- I hope you can understand my language . And what we should pursue is hight bit/pixel, not big size of pictures.

You can have some more information here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_artifact
http://www.teched.vt.edu/gcc/[....]/PremiereFactorsAffectComp.pdf
http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5677689-description.html

Apart from studying, I find it is good for me to relax here. Huge thanks to Esato

Please reduce the full size pictures----The forum gets laggy --- Thanks

i don't know real values but try in this direction:
daylight - mix of yellow, a bit of magenta
cloudy - as above but with bigger values
fluorescent - a bit of yellow (?)
incandescent - a lot of blue

lpachuong
you must consider what increased buffer size can give:
96666 (max accepted) - 927c0 (original) = 3ea6

only 16038 bytes. this is nothing because every additional 1% of quality above 90% need much more space than 15kb. real 95% picture is ~800kb but of course "max" value and "real" value is like "sky" and "earth"

common quality range for my pictures is: 85 - 90%
green/trees scene quality is near 60 - 75%

my conclusion:
1. max quality at 91% is enough for 600kb
2. cam_ss_jpeg_buf_size_ was declared only as information purpose for firmware designers and programmers
3. we can forget about camera crash, i will post 6.5 update tomorrow and you will know what i'm talking about

BTW. don't kill me because of PM's - i was out of free time lately and i even not saw that i have some PM's

DarKMaGiCiaN
i liked zuza compression because of small file size and quick save but i knew that is deal: "something for something".
that was the past, now i want more than 75% quality

hemnath123
no need to thanks i like to play with things like that. i always had more fun with tools and editors than with pity J2ME games

I agree with u. 91% is enough and we dont need more than that. I just put 95% on my phone as I love it and I havent' got crash so far(dont know why). We all look forward to ur new driver. I have to go back to work now GOod night everyone and maybe see u tomorow

About PM, dont worry, sometimes I could not replied some PMs. Just joking with you. Hope you have more rest time.

Good night everyone.
