read all the topics guys, MR is down because apple fans have been hacking the site for more then a week now. Eldar even set up a bounty of 10k to find those hackers.

Regarding the screen, SE call it scratch-resistant, not scratch proof!

To be scratch-proof, it's have to be made from a diamond-based compound.....

.....and then there's be more people moaning about the cost of the handset!

And with that in mind, as Masseur pointed out yesterday, X1387 has T650i blue for sale right now(with NO accessories, I might add) - for ~£275/$540 shipped(of course, you could easily get stung for VAT on that, whic then goes over £300).
I'll be stunned if any UK supplier will retail for less than that(let alone £220), X1387 is usually 20-25% lower than UK prices......

After all, Ben Duffy from SE told ShinyShiny months ago, that T650 would retail for about the same price as K800 was initially......which was £350.....

i can't find any topics regarding that? and what has apple fans has against eldar? cult, indeed. they might know their computers, but cellphones? noobs...

back to topic. indeed it says scratch-resistant, but one would assume that it would stand tougher around 5-10 times better than normal phone screens? are we talking about deep scratches here or those swirly superficial scratches?

I was wondering that too, I thought it was supposed to be out in the UK by now?

If I remember correctly, someone said earlier in this topic that carphone warehouse were going to be getting it first in the uk (according to a copy of the CPW catalogue they'd seen). The CPW website says "Expected: 23rd August 2007" and the guy I spoke to from my local store said this week too.

The CPW 17th August brochure does mention the T650i as one of its forthcoming "Red-hot pay monthly deals" on Page 6; the phone in question being free with an O2 £35/month (or greater) contract - no other network operator logos are shown next to the T650i description as is the case with many of the other phones in the brochure.

My main worry is that the T650i in the UK will be a O2 contract-only phone for the first few weeks, as is also currently the case with the Nokia 6120 classic (see Page 23 of the same CPW brochure; the Nokia website still lists it as "Coming soon" even though 3 UK has been offering it as an exclusive contract-only phone for the last few weeks), so anyone quickly wanting a SIM-free or PAYG T650i in the UK could be forced to import one.

Although, bear in mind SE's own E-Shop is quoting this month too.....and they don't sell branded phones......

The CPW store I spoke to said all their T650s would be for new connections only...
