Zack comes off as an Insta-influencer type of account to me. At least he's more reliable than some.

I'm still not sold on that 1.1 name. Either 0 exist or this name. Zack was the one who shared 1/1.7" 12mp. X1ii having larger sensor seems more like a fan dream for now.

They could just changed their minds when they knew Samsung was working on a 1/1.33" to sell to everybody.
Imagine Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, Oppo all using 1/1.3" and maybe huawei with 1/1.2", while xperia with 1/1.7".

People will just judge before they see results.
Judge by size and MP count.
1/1.7" is 40mm2, while 1/1.33" is 76.
Too much difference.

I suppose Motorola, LG and Htc will go 686. While Google and Apple with 1/2.6" again.

So, let's suppose they have 0, 1.1, 5.1 and 3 ..
So far I was thinking of 1/1.7" for 1.1, 5.1 and 3 , while 0 with 1/1.5.

The real advantage of nonacell seem to be the dynamic range. I doubt 108mp will look any better with 9 pixels having the same color filter. Of only the top tier will have it and will be pricier than 1ii then it'd be normal.

BTW I haven't heard anything about who the supplier will be for the 108mp. Will sony also manufacture for Samsung or will it be Samsung only.

If 1/1.7 has f1. 2 then it might have similar results. But this is what we said always. Even if they have similar results it'll seem like they are lagging behind. It's especially ridiculous that they are the sensor kings and know exactly what others are doing. Huawei had 1/1.7 for years.

I'm still hopeful they might have greater image quality. Their noise reduction in 1" sensor cams are brilliant. Getting closer to that pixel pitch we might see significantly better results. Not to mention the reduced noise for good light too. And if the variable aperture is also there that'll solve the "out of focus look". So they still have potential. We'll see how committed they are.

Yes. I dont look the fact the f1.6 gives to huge part of frame the defocus effect.
That why I like my f2.

Imx700 (p40 pro) and imx760 were deleted ...
Why sony did this? 😰

It's probably not sony who writes that page.

Huawei also has f1. 6 but doesn't seem to have that issue. I wonder if it's the bigger sensor or better lens. Sony should be able to do it too.

X1 good light was worse
Exposure was too dark
Lacked always on HDR
Fake bokeh wasn't as good as iphones and pixels
Front cam was horrible

Video frame by frame sharpness was good. Clear panning but the stabilization was bad for 4k. Again lacked hdr (not hlg) and hfr between 120 and 960fps.

Im curious to see what Sony will fix. And if that "unprecedented image quality" is real.

I remember to read on S.A.R that Sony goes online to search for any info about upcoming products and have them erased.

I dont think RNR does any impact in day light, since noise is much lower.

The HLG already boosts exposure and DR.
It is not just the 10bit.

4K hdr of xz2 is same provided by cinema pro.
You just need to click on hdr toggle on the left side of screen.

I remember the FHD30 has backlit scene for videos.
At least for old phones with the "manual" scenes.

Bigger sensor and pixels should have lower noise by default. That's what I'm saying.

HDR video was one of the features advertised for the original Z but the new ones lose to others.

1080p HDR from Z series is same HDR applied to photos.
HDR since XZ2 is true HDR.
8 bit cant match 10bit.
Unless you have a 10bit screen, it will look weird and washed out.

😊

I did not know the phones with 10 min recording were capped by android, not own choice to prevent heat.
How did Sony escape this?

From weibo : " Next month Sony Semiconductor will release a CIS that integrates ToF, IR (Face Recognition), and ordinary imaging. All-in-one, completed in a single piece. " .....

Curious to know whose gonna have this.

Just to clarify, the 8-bit screens do not make the 10-bit content look washed out and weird, simply with more banding

I mean 8bit video x 10 bit video.
HDR video on SDR screen looks worse than SDR video on SDR screen.

I think sony is only brand that never had notch nor ugly hole.

Amazon has x1 for $715.
You still can have it as xmas 🎁 ...

Dic you guys noticed sites dont complain when other brands have 6 months cycle or shorter?
