Same as bruceb

Someone said they were able to update with the UK SEUS.

I got excited and tried, but I got the same message. I'm trying to go from R2A041 to R2AE033.

Now I'm getting aggravated...

I just want to update my K7 to a decent firmware and then sell my DSS-25 to get my money back. DSS-25 doesn't impressed me.

Looks like it's the Centre for you.

Going there myself tomorrow for an update.

SE are having problems with their online update service and to be honest even if it did work, it would probably feck up your phone so I bet they have just put this block on for all phones now.

Sony have confirmed to me that they are not sure when they will get the service fixed so you can either wait until it is or send your phone off to a SE Repair centre as suggested.

Hi everybody!

Did you notice that original SEUS site is closed now?

http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/K700/frameset.htm

How long has this been closed? Something has changed on the new link? Light me...

No, you misunderstood me. I saw the new link... I'm wondering, has something change on the new link?? Many one said SEUS corrupts the mobiles while performing update, need to fix this problem... So, is this fixed now? Or it is only some countrycustomized site?

@Rex:

Found something interesting!

Got on to the new SEUS site and found a R2AE033 with a slightly later time tag: HL1_pg_K700CDA102298/38CID29RED_f_050119_1334_5, the one I got on 13 Jan when updating from R2L001 to R2AE033 was HL1_pg_K700CDA102298/38CID29RED_f_050111_1018_4. THERE IS an 8 day difference!

The files I got on 13 Jan are: HL1_125881RED29_000000_0000_R2AE033 and HL1_CHINESESFARED29_000000_0000_R2AE033 while the files I got today are HL1_125881RED29_000000_0000_R2AE033 and HL1_CHINESESFARED29-New_000000_0000_R2AE033. The difference is that a 'New' crops up in the new filename of the Chinese pack.

Updating at the moment. Don't know what's new yet!

@Rex:

The update was successful but I haven't found anything new so far. It might be only a maintenance build. The previously corrupted things on the phone remain corrupted. However, the good thing is that the previous settings and files are all well. Hope to discover something interesting later.

Edit: Compared the MD5's of the files downloaded and verified that the main firmware files are the same while the Chinese packs are different. They might have only corrected a Chinese typo somewhere. It is a good thing anyway.
