I am getting less and less excited by this phone every day. I just fail to see anything extraordinary in it . This looks llike just another phone out there ... but the lack of Jog Dial really buried it for me , but I hope SE will prove me wrong on this one ...

You mean this interface?

I wonder the same thing. I don't know if this is the standard 3.3 interface, or just a skin.

No not that one buddy - do you remember the widescreen UI on Symbian Show last october? the one that was referred as UIQ 4

From what i saw, Paris UI seems so primitive, i don't know if Paris would really utilize UIQ 3.3 as it seems that it's still using the old UIQ 3.0 UI with only widgets built on top of it - i hope i was 1000% wrong..

Oh, THAT interface. Probably not, especially when that was supposedly UIQ 4 and Paris will have UIQ 3.3. But of course someone could probably mod a skin for it.

Also, are there any electronic expos between now and the end of May that SE could announce Paris, or will they create their own event?

P1 was announced on May 8. i don't actually know what kind of gadget show was that but i think Paris/BeiBei will be announced at the same event on may.

Unless i saw Paris' UI elements that furtherly indicates that it'll be using UIQ 3.3 besides the first spypic UI showing widgets and G900 like panels which is still unconvincing. i'll expect less on this phone

Early May, then, maybe. This is good.

On an semi-unrelated-related topic, I just learned one of my neighbors from long ago just got a job with SE and is going to Sweden next week to meet "the big boss." I am so insanely jealous it's not even funny. I'm going to get his email address from my mom and express said jealousy...and ask him if he knows anything about "Paris," of course. Hopefully he remembers me and we can communicate regularly.

I have got to learn how he got the job.

Nope PK... so far, everything has been disappointing.
Slider,Rocker keys, small 2.8" display,UIQ3.3 with primitive ui,Girly Korean design...so what was that in paris that amazed you??

@all,Is there absolutely anything in paris that the competition doesn't/will not have in q4??So far,n96 has more that what paris will be having minus the touchscreen.

But im amazed with girly korean slider design, primitive ui and d-pad instead of rocker. At least it is my prefrence

To me rocker is a drawback instead or d-pad. its more efficient, egronomic and convinient, while rocker key is superior to scrolling up/down web page or document but not application friendly.

Many on this thread have expressed their disappointment in paris. Based on what? Mere speculation at best. Yes we have some hard facts. But for the most part we know very little concrete information. Yet many are so willing be disappointed! Some on this thread have seen paris. A select few have touched and used it. All of the above have stated that it will blow the competition away. Are these people so ignorant to not be aware of the n96? Or other comparative phones? I think not. Knowing the competition and still stating that paris will slay all others are big words not to be taken lightly. I say all the doubters should refrain from their disappointment until the official information is released. Personally i'm quite impressed with paris thus far. As far as screen size mone said 2.8 vga but the dpad area is still a mystery. Maybe the entire surface is a screen. But that lower portion becomes the dpad most of the time and then available for viewing for pictures and video? I'm probably wrong but would be cool
