If you mean protected iTunes music from the iTS, then you can burn CDs and re-rip, or use DRM Dumpster.

If it's tracks you've ripped yourself into AAC format, you can use iTunes to convert them back (but you'll lose a bit of quality in the process).

In iTunes Preferences go to Advanced > Importing and change Import using: to MP3, and click OK. Then right-click on any tracks and choose Convert selection to MP3 from the pop-up.

ok ive just bought a macbook yeah
and upon starting it up it asks me if i want to transfer my stuff off my old G4 onto it using a firewire cable.
i dont have a firewire cable
but i also dont have any patience
so i skipped that step and continued setting it up
ive now bought a firewire cable
how do i transfer my files from the G4 onto the macbook?

Turn your old computer off, plug the firewire cable between the two, restart the old computer whilst holding down the T key. A big firewire logo will appear on its screen and all its hard drives will mount on the Desktop of your new Mac as removable external hard disks.

You can then copy files as you wish.

Be aware that some old PowerPC apps and files may not be (fully) compatible with your new Intel laptop.

You'll also have to be careful when overwriting existing preferences etc.

You could try running the Migration Assistant, and see what that does.

i thought it would transfer alot faster yeah?

also another pain in the ass is im always getting a popup asking for a keychain password....i just press cancel and it goes back to normal but its annoying nearly every site i go onto it asks for a keychain password....i dont even know what keychain is....how do i turn it off?
