@dreamfish, think they do charge for 0870 number. But just had a look and found a good number for you to try. O2 online complaints 0113 3886159.

Sorry for the aside, but where 0870 numbers are not 'free' (inclusive airtime) there is a great site to try and at least find the 'proper' geographical number (i.e. national rate number).

According to e2save the Orange stock will be in by the end of this week/early next week and the phones will ship (early) next week, depending on when they arrive at their depot. sigh.... I was hoping I might get it before the weekend.... they couldn't confirm whether or not the phone would be Orange branded...

The phone has also moved on Oranges website from the seperate comming soon section to the main page with all the other phones although it still says comming soon. CPW's website has also now got the Orange K800I up, but again it states comming soon so hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
@dreamfish, If I was you I would of blown my top by now. I make a thing to give a company 2 or 3 day's to sort a problem like this out. If they muck you about after that then let hell on them. It's pretty obviouse you are going to get NOW WHERE with the muppets in the call centre so DEMAND to speak to a manager, failing that, go on there website, find out where there HQ is, find out all the names of the O2 directors, then send EVERY director a letter of complaint. Believe me it works wonders. Sod the little and middle men, go straight to the top.
I would also now only settle for a brand new handset as there's no telling what condition the other one will be in, it may have been opened and used to ring Australia for all you know. It's DHL and O2's fault NOT your's so don't let them treat you like it is. You haven't signed for the parcel, someone else has and it will be on DHL's system the parcel went up North so O2 have no leg to stand on.
Edit: Just remember what's £250 to a company like O2 which is probably the cost a company that bulk buys will pay for a K800I

Sorry to jump in but I wanted to moan about O2 and this seems a good place to do it
The ineptitude of O2 never ceases to amaze me!
I rang for an upgrade about 3 weeks ago and heard nothing until...
... monday afternoon when I got a call from my old flatmate telling me there was a parcel for me. For some reason O2 decided to send my shiny new K800i to an address I haven't lived at for nearly a year. No texts or emails sent to me... it just turned up... with 2 3G SIMS for some reason.
And now... I've just got a text on my K800i from O2 telling me that my new K800i is in stock and that I should call them to arrange delivery!!!!!!
Now... do I ring them and arrange delivery to see what happens, or should I be good and admit I've already got it (bearing in mind that I rang them to port my number yesterday morning)
I hope you guys get your phones soon.

Yet more stupidity!! I have got someone to email (yes email - because this woman doesn't work on the phone) a lady who works in o2 failed delivery - i have been told that she needs to ring me asap.
This is now an official JOKE. I don't even want the phone anymore. I'm so annoyed.

Finally got a phone call off the same lady who said "sorry, i've been off all week" - ERRR no love, I spoke to you yesterday! Proves that they're LIARS! What a farce. She said my phone has been sent back to o2 (which I do not believe, I just think they're saying it because I went on a rant). I got put through to retentions, and they've sent out my k800i for delivery Friday. I couldn't be arsed to ask for compensation etc, I just want my damn phone now!
Funny though, I got my GM number, and I asked for my 02 number so I could check the status. He said "your GM number will work on the DHL status site", to which I responded, "last week I got given a number beginning with 02". "No, no, the GM number works fine"....
...does if f***!
Even their customer services agents don't have a clue. Poor customer services, poor management of staff, poor staff training...just all-over poor. And here was me telling others how well o2 have treated me in the past. I should have asked them to waiver the £49.99 I paid for the phone.

I know you've had a bad deal here but just to clarify the gm number does actually work on the DHL site but neither of the numbers will work until is has been scanned by DHL.
Just because it may say 'left the building' on o2 doesn't mean DHL have it, it just means that o2 have stuck the airway on and it's ready for collection.
Quite a few customers never get the 02 number and can only track via gm - why who knows but I just thought you should know save any more headache with them.
