Hi Tibor,

X10 is very fast phone. Check http://www.youtube.com/user/SonyEricssonDev and see that it takes about 3 seconds to start/load game. Try it on any other phone and tell me how many seconds it will take. I found that some viewers of that video said that it is few times faster than on other phones.

Also I saw that there are some videos where X10 looks very slow but the reason is that people have very old frrmware and they are not allowed to show it since it is not finished. Also it is not only old firmware but it is developer firmware and it is slower since we are logging everything in Dev. firmware and it takes time to log every detail in background. On Sony Ericsson official web sites and videos you can see latest firmware and even that firmware is old and slow compared with firmware available today. And it will be even better when the X10 hits the market.

Don't worry you will feel the power of 1GHz processor when it comes to games, productivity applications...

Best Regards,

Amir

Yeah... we want to feel the power of 1ghz in a multitouch 16m screen too Amir in A2.0 update if you want to feel the power of our money in your pocket !

Can't you just stop?
The phone is just touch not multi-touch. If you don't like it then don't buy it. 44 pages in it is getting VERY annoying having to read your complaints all the time, even several times in every page.

* Will the X10 be able to have upgrades to future android version's i.e 2.0?. and also will the X10 screen support multitouch?

Re: X10 Android version and Multi touch

Hi,
Here are few answers from X10s globarl marketing manager

Will it have multi-touch in future updates?
Xperia X10 has a capacitive screen. It does not support multi-touch functionality at launch, but is considered for the future.

Will the X10 receive Android 2.0 update (for those who bought from the initial batches with Android 1.6) ?

The UX platform used for Xperia X10 will evolve to Android 2.0 over time.

Amir

Read that carefully and try to understand what is saying here.

The X10 won't magically get a A2.0 update with UX multi-touch and all, the UX platform will evolve over time. The X10 might not, but the UX will.

Having said that, the X10 has no hardware limitations that prevents it from running A2.0 (like some older Android phones) so over time we will probably get A2.0+UX on the X10.

Also have in mind that right now hasn't promised A2.0 for the X10 nor did they promise multi-touch, as you can see they only speak about the UX platform and not the handset.

I wonder what does multitouch offers that much?
I can get why the 65K limitation is annoying but I don't get multitouch at all.

I'm going to buy this phone whether it is going to have Android2.0 update or not. I know even if wont give us an upgrade, we'll find a way. It is like installing winamp 3.0 to P1i. Would you believe that when the phone released

All multitouch really offers is pinch to zoom and fancy gestures. Jesus effing Christ is this ridiculous, its like you guys can't be pleased with one of the strongest phones out there now bar screen color.

Double click is much more easier to use IMO.

Thanks. However, I'd like to know if the 'lustre white' version will also be launched at the same time or will that be reserved for a operator exclusive (probably vodagroan).

If you're not used to using a multi-touch phone on a daily basis, then it means nothing to you - or you imagine it's just about pinch-to-zoom and "fancy gestures" and can live without it.

If you do use multi-touch, you'll be frustrated by the X10, and probably already discounting it. It's that big a deal.

@S4k1s can't YOU just stop? Go and buy the phone the first day that will be out ....
I wanna know more about a product in order to choose to spend or not my money on this ! Ok??

Now i 'm not a kid who wants to play games and use facebook...
I want some divx support there for movies without convert them to mp4... for long distance trips
And multitouch for zoom in-out photos/browsers etc ...
A big screen (already have that)
And a software that handles hardware better.... i dont care if android 1.6 limits colors... then go to 2.0...

You remind me a guy some posts before saying...

I don't need radio... i use handsfree
i dont' need camera ... i use my slr
hell.. i don't need a phone ... there are phonebooths everywhere !!

jeez !!!

I have two multitouch computers pinch zooming is cool but that's not a groundbreaking feature. And I don't think that having this function on a phone is essential. Pinch zooming is a gadget... You can do exactly the same thing by double taping.

dont' need it doesn't mean x10 should not have it... multitouch screens is the future...16m colors is the future ... and the future is 2010...

that's why your computers have it !! for people want to use this new feature!!
