@goledenface; very nice design, how legit is it?
@ADIDA; seems you were quite accurate about IFA. Kudos!

It is legit because it is from the leaked Sony's documents.

I got myself a mint X Performance dual 64GB for only £260, sold my very problematic Z5 to a refurbishment website for £115 so I'm over the moon with that piece of business. There is a day and night difference between the two phones, loving the silver metal back. I've opted to wait because I really wanted the XZs which is not available and found that the XZ Premium is too big and I wouldn't use any 4K content really.
My buddy has told me that the IFA flagships will be more refined versions of the current XZ line with some clues to what the 2018 design will be. They will be distinctively Xperia although with different fine details, those expecting 2018 phones to be radical like the S8 shouldn't hold your breath, Sony will stick to their style. We should expect two devices so a high end and another which could be high/mid suggesting a compact phone. He says the hardware is on point and very well optimised, the performance in real world tasks will be second to none.
It was very interesting chatting with him, with the loop design there are lots of limitations to how certain aspects can be. The fingerprint scanner dictates the width obviously but also the side screen bezels, with a loop edge you risk making the sides very protruding to make the screen bezel small but the phone then becomes wide so it makes no sense. He said Sony acknowledge small bezel phones from their competitors and that to achieve that they either make a thick device or lose features like their class leading selfie camera. This is one reason why they are moving away from the loop design, different body styles may give them greater flexibility but he reiterates that you won't get a small top bezel if it means downgrading the selfie cam so until the actual sensor becomes smaller there will be no compromise. I like that statement, the new HTC shows how you can get so many great features if you don't fart around with tiny bezels.

Apologies to atom-bomb for poaching this from the XZ Premium thread.
Regarding the 'Y' concept shown a while ago, is this the new design for the (2017/2018) series of phones?
No need to apologize, I posted in the wrong thread anyway I should have posted it here.
I'll really happy if my speculation about IFA 2017 Sony phone will use concept 'Y' design come true.
Finger cross for design Y.

I hope Sony will sell same dual sim model everywhere, not just Asia. I actually had to get my XZ from Asia for the dual sim and 64GB internal storage for the same or cheaper price than the single sim 32GB with scanner disabled US version

I would love to see the Y design language
. I think you're onto something with your post in the XZP thread @atom-bomb.

All right ARM has a sweet update in their processor line up-
A75 for high end version. It's 20% more powerful than A73 in the single core performance.
A55 for mid end version. It's also 20% more powerful than A53 in the overall performance.

Since Qualcomm is still stuck with samsung semiconductor foundary in 2018 (hence 10nm processor) I think Sony should use mediatek processor which is rumored to use 7nm tsmc foundary or order mediatek to make a custom version for their mobile.
My dream cpu configure would be
2 A75+ 4 A55 + 2 A7
A gpu that will be powerful and efficient enough to render 4k resolution all the time without laggy performance.
