There's no option to change the resolution within the UI but in all honesty its not needed as the screen is amazing 24/7

i thought i saw somewhere with the power point slides showing improvements of the XZP over previous models and it showed Z5P as having 4K only in the album and movie app, whereas XZP had 4K in album, movies, UI, and 3rd party apps.

That's true moogoo but you can't manually change the resolution unless the app allows it such as YouTube.

Read that Sony removed the tap to wake function. Hope they bring it back, really cool feature.

this was the slide i was thinking of. it doesn't mention 4K like I had remembered but more of the color change tech. so i guess it is up in the air still whether the UI itself is 4K. though, from what people who have seen it in hand are saying, the display is stunning and as long as you are enjoying your multi-media content in 4K HDR when you're supposed to, that's all that matters, i think.

I am definitely sure it doesn't have in 3rd party apps such as games and graphics demanding apps.

I never said the UI and 3rd party apps are all in 4K. I said I thought I saw a power point slide that said that. I then posted the power point slide I was thinking about and it does not say anything about 4K. It only talks about the color enhancements. You know for sure 4K is enabled in the album and movie apps. Amazon Video will have 4K enabled as well. Other apps may or may not have 4K enabled. I'm not sure if any 3rd party app can take advantage of the 4K HDR ability, but that would be nice if that were the case. As I said, the UI has not been confirmed by Sony to be in 4K HDR, though Android does support 4K UI. Regardless, everyone says the display is absolutely stunning, so that's all that matters.
UPDATE: MY XZP HAS ARRIVED and it is BEAUTIFUL. absolutely gorgeous phone. It feels great in the hand even if it is large. It's crazy fast and I am loving it. Not sure why but I couldn't find any content on the phone that showed off the 4K display. I'll have to dig some up online to test it out. but I am so happy!
I am not happy with the roxfit screen protector. it definitely takes away from the beauty of the device. it's just plain ugly. the hard case is ok but mine does not seem to fit as perfectly as I would have liked. There is a tiny bit of air on the back and it absolutely LOVES fingerprint oils. it smears everywhere and is a pain to wipe off more than off the glass of the phone. The corners don't seem to fit perfectly for me. COuld be just me. Sigh. It'll stay on to protect my baby but I am now on the lookout for a new screen protector, so if you find a nice one (glass preferred) let me know!
