Couple of questions

1.What did the Muslims follow before the Quran? As if I understand correct the Quran is approx 1500 years old and we all know that people have been on this planet a lot longer than that. So was their an early book?

pre-islamic arabs were predominantly polytheist pagans, but still acknowledged allah above the others. there was also a smattering of judaism and christianity in arabic culture.

in the early days of isalm there was a general impression among pagan arabs (especially in Mecca) that muhammad was either a madman or possessed by an evil spirit. as i understand it the pagan arabs made no stand against islam, because by its nature paganism is inclusive and tolerant of a variety of belief systems, until muhammad began actively denouncing their traditional deities.

Another question about the Quran

Who were isma'il isaac, jacob and the tribes? They just seem to pop up in verse's and have had no introduction as such!

Most mentioned prophets in the Quran were mentioned in previous scriptures like the bible and gospel.

The Quran is the final revelation and has parts of the bible.

and has not changed since.

Verses 21 and 22 from Chapter 59 states:

Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect.

Allah is He, than Whom there is no other God. Who knows all things both secret and open. He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Verses 45-47 from chapter 33 Allah says to the Holy Prophet SAW:

O Prophet! Truly We have sent thee as a Witness, a Bearer of Glad Tidings, and Warner.

And as one who invites to Allah's grace by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light.

Then give the Glad Tidings to the Believers, that they shall have from Allah a very great Bounty.
