I agree, smjohns. The SEUS is such a powerful concept, but if it's out of date, it's not of much use. It still offers R2AE for unbranded generic K700s!

Davinci could easily make software upgrade free by using SFA files instead of the whole FS. But they wont becuse of course they want money.
Regarding new updates, yeh as a k700i owner myself now i would like to see SEUS updated, however it could be that the files so far and Brown files or not meant to be released to public phones.

Not to mention it's very unreliable!

I'm not so sure about its unreliability. I've used it several times and it's been fine, once with a P910i and many times with various K700i. Perhaps it's unreliable for the S700i more than others.

Question for you davinci users then, do you have to perform a master reset for each firmware upgrade? This is assuming that your phone is already locked, was never branded and you are installing the same region firmware? If I can use davinci without loosing all my data then I may give it a try...if not then I guess I will have to wait for SEUS to pull their finger out

You don't have to do a master reset, but as DaVinci does a full flash of the file system, the phone will be wiped anyway.

I guess i will have to wait then as I can't be bothered to go through all that hassle every few days...which seems to be the amount of releases we are getting at the moment.....oh and pay for the privilege
Got an email from SE today confirming they have no idea when their SEUS will be updated with the latest firmware.....efficient as ever then

But its fair enough, if SE dont think the firmwares should be released then it is up to them. Davinci are the annoying ones, charging people for a free service - for unbranding you have to use connection to the EMMA II server so it is fair enough that they charge you for it. However simple software upgrade requires no such connection and therefore should be free! My opinion anyway.....

Could someone with R2AY confirm whether or not the "time and cost" menu is present? I know with R2AL and R2AT it had disappeared, so I'd be interested to know!
