It's chronological, no surprise.
I hope we have some big treats from Sony at IFA.
Samsung took about two years before they went to their own dedicated event.
2013 is the first year that Sony build a phone from ground up, maybe 2014 or early 2015.
Don't rush Sony Mobile too much, it better to grow step by step.

logically the next product reveal is at IFA 2013 of course.
I don't understand why sony is opting for such a screen on the phablet when the rival note 3 is supposedly meant to feature a new tech AMOLED, if not, it will probably ship with the S4 which will make the JDI panel look sub par.
Sony always has a huge opportunity to awe people with its tech and know how, but somehow they always screw things up somehow, either software (usually the case), or some aspect of the hardware. Maybe the Sony one will remedy these problems.

I'm positive the phablet will release in end June on NTT Docomo Japan and will hit global markets in July
