Whoa  show me anyone who's paying R15k for a phone and I'll show you 1000s willing to pay less than 50% for an iMate JasJam or whatever the HyTcn is called. Still the P990 seems a good acquisition if anyone can get it.
@brad: Never noticed the end of free internet on the vlive.

That's the spirit, Menageryl, don't let up on em! And if all else fails, ranting and raving does work... Holler long and hard enough and eventually they tend to capitulate...

Taken today with the Nokia 3230 while Wanqa Tours was showing family around the usual London tourist traps:
Buckingham Palace as seen from the walkway bridge crossing the adjacent, stunning St. James's Park.

..someone other than telkon(known to the majority as telkom) which means prices will get more competative as cellphone operators will have a choice to use the other...you get the drift? think bandwidth prices should also drop soon, and whichever cellular operator is the cheapest will get customers. the sno will only be accessable to companies in the start, but mtn, vodacom, virgin and c are...

How long had it been there? Do the networks permanently block SIM cards that have not been used for a long time? In Naija, it is 3 months.

@coola: If you follow this thread, last month Vodacom announced that they would be cutting off SIM cards which they deemed "inactive"...For instance, if you hardly make calls and buy airtime once every three months to extend your network window you might be cut off from their network. Usually you can buy a sim card and you'd get a window of say six to three months before you've purchased airtime- very fair IMO.
@786KBR: I saw that ad, did take much note of it as I've never fed the corporate fatcats...besides, I'm not interested in downloading wallpapers to my phone.
