Last year on this thread, Spawn was discussing the ram issue for the P990i.....
Irs evidnet after all this time that that is the one most crippiling defect in the phone........
Spawn mentioned that it would be crazy of SE to solve this issue .harware wise, on the P990i....well they actually did with the P1.....
That made me wonder if it would be technically possible for most of those who have bought the P990i and want to keep it for some time...to acuttually replace the ram on the P990i with that on the P1....assuming that the cost would be reasonable of course....
Any technical guy out there who could shed some light on this????????

Its never a bad thing to dream....mabey some crazy techie could come up with a solution.....
As you use the P990i more and more you will also start dreaming and hoping for a bigger Ram....

1) How to change the shortcut in flip close mode for the preset shortcut = "calls" on the left hand corner above the back button.
2) When SMSing and typing without T9, if I type a word that uses a paticular button few times then if ther is a way to input the word faster. for eg the word mom cant be typed by pressing no.6 in flip close 3 times but after the first time I have to wait before pressing it again......

Sure you can install YM on your phone using apps such as IM+, Agile Messenger etc. They also bundle YM with other messengers such as MSN, ICQ etc. You can get them and choose the games you want from

This depends WHERE you buy it! A dealer that got old stock will have old phones... you can look physically under the battery cover of the phone WHEN it was made. If its just recently then its a good chance it will have the latest. Just remember, the fw came out August...!
And I don't even know if SE still produces the P990 since August 2007
I just bought my second P990 less than a week ago and I think it has the latest FW. I bought it from these guys

The manufacturing date is 07W29 and for the battery, 07W27. That's around July and so I may have one of the latest P990 that will ever be made if production stopped in August.

I have the latest firm number 28 and internet setting sent from the service provider. Now iv tried to use Mini opera but I get some Midlet permission and that too doesnt work it cant detect my internet settings....
