@nitro fan
my point is that the defect rate for the x1 is well within any reasonable limits. i am quite frankly stunned by just how few faulty units there seem to be. And those unlucky few have been able to replace their units with the minimum of fuss.
SE/HTC have done really well - and thats coming from one of the few users who has the misfortune owning a unit with a few minor aesthetic defects.

How do you hide the SIM contacts?
And finally, since the media player doesn't include an equalizer, what's the best headphones for this? I want in-ear headphones that provides MAXIMUM BASS heheheh. I got the Creative EP-630 though, the bass wasn't good enough for me without the equalizer :S
hehe thanks in advance, whoever replies, you're the best!
Download and use the program XperiaTweaks (www.cliffords.nu) program, it has many features including one to display/hide SIM contacts.
You are on the right track, deciding to purchase better earphones. But don't forget you should consider it along with the following:
1. Recording format & bit-rate (e.g. mp3 not less than 192 kBits/s)
2. Music player (with EQ or Bass boost - since it's important to you)
3. Earphones
Earphones with good bass do exists and the list is vast. It really depends on how much you want to spend. Any within the Shure SE range are a good start, for medium to high end earphones. If you're on a budget, you can't really go wrong with sennheiser.

Chris

AWESOME! its all goood now
xperiatweaks + contactfix sorted out the contact list issue, thank you the_mont =)
fixed the messagetones, thanks to Osmano =))
and surprisingly, i was trying out my bluetooth headset HBH-DS205 with my xperia though i had to switch the headphones with the ones that came with the xperia, it sounded GOOD (maybe better than using the bundled headphones with the 3.5mm jack)..
I changed the settings on the Audio tab on the Bluetooth settings to Excellent Audio Quality and Sample Rate higher to 48Hz or was it KHz.. (What's the sample rate actually for?).. and at first, the sound was baad (really low volume), then i tried increasing the volume using the volume rocker on the side of the phone, it doesn't really increase much, but then,, by increasing volume on the bluetooth headset itself, it works just fine, i even had to lower the volume on the media player =)))
Oh, but i get freezes on the Facebook Panel most of the time though, anyone gettin this too? I did install it on the device itself.. hmmm

Yeah. We hear from the dozen of people who complain, but we don't hear from the thousands who have no problem with thirs phones.

Does anybody knows, where can I buy middle part of XPERIA's covers? It is the place, where I have crack near the stylus holder. I saw diassembling video and I know this is easy, so I will repair it on my own. Don't have time to sending it to UK, waiting several weeks for repair and for sending it home

I will reprazent the thousands then.

Only real thing I actually
needed was the bluetooth fix script... which I hear may be addressed in future updates.

Makes this a pretty bloody awesome phone in my eyes!

My last phone was P990. I still remember the agony when I got it. The release of X1 is on another planet.....

XperiaTweak is nice but I think I'm going to drop it for Advanced Configuration tool. More options.

I do love my music, and I have spent ridiculous amounts of money on certain items. I blame the working in a Hi-Fi shop many moons ago. Once you hear good hi-fi, you just can't go back, lol. I'm constantly going up and up. Earphones and headphones are a must.
Anyway I currently use Shure E4C, and they are great, but I'm due an upgrade, and I too have been looking at and comparing a shortlist that includes the Shure SE530, Shure SE420, Etymotic ER4P, Sennheiser IE8. I've discounted the Ultimate Ears super.fi 5Pro, based purely on practicality(they stick quite far out of your ears).
Additionally, don't use Windows Media Player for anything other than burning .wma files. The encoder used within the player for mp3's is an extremely old version of Lame (probably to make wma sound comparably better). I will be making my informed decision on Friday, so will let you know if I settle with the Shure SE530's, and give my humble opinion

.
BTW cheapest site for headphones (inc. Shure) is
http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk
