I dont know if some of you have seen it already. SE will be releasing a Xperia+android phone and a Xperia+Windows7 phone together with NTT-DOCOMO in the coming winter in Japan. I think there will be an international version of this two and sadly this will b X11 and X++. And by that time they will be concentrating on these new devices.

so someone can press the giant green 'Go live!' button (which currently has one of those enticing 'Do not push' stickers on it and is under a clear plastic case to which the key to the lock to open it is owned by an ogre with an HTC).

I laughed out loud when I read that

SE is so full of themselves. Look at them, taking too long at releasing an update that is already outdated before it comes out while having not a hint of embarassment but making a hype of it and coining "something smarter is coming" when they should just quietly and quickly release it and concentrate on 2.2. And the update, after such shameless campaign, offers only little more than what we have now. It's really twisted that they still think they're on top of the game but are actually clueless as to what their customers want and the amount of competition they have to deal with out there. Well, I've been with SE far too long to have hoped for a 2.2 update anyway, if anything I've learnt that with SE, hope ends up with disappointment. They will never do what they never mention to do and give you anything extra than what they tell you. Maybe X10 is a good platform for me to jump ship to HTC after staying too long with Ericsson/SE. Yes, I'm sure it is.

The HTC Desire HD is supposed to be announced on 15th September, this is the device I think we both are looking for. It's not even out yet and its already said to be having Android 2.2 on launch and getting Android 3.0 Ginger bread. Sony Ericsson is just rubbish these days I entirely agree.

Not sure if it's been posted before but I'm number 13,967 who signed the petition demanding FroYo to be included in the X10 android map. If you haven't performed this collective obligation, you can do so here

@Muhammad-Oli
Are you using a shared computer? If so perhaps it has been used to sign there before and therefore a repeat of the same IP address might cause it to return an error message

Nah it's just my personal one, and I definitely haven't signed it before. I believe it is just a problem with their website.

EDIT: Tried again just then and it worked this time. Number 13976.

how to switch off the data account (gprs/edge) on X10?
as i'll be going to Hong Kong, I can't afford to pay anything @ 10kbps data charge.
