I've found a small problem with MyPhoneExplorer 1.6.

I've sent a message to multiple users. That is, within MyPhoneExplorer, I've created a new message, and put multiple phone numbers into the Send field, separated by a semi-colon. All the messages are sent correctly, no problem.

But now, when I look at Sent Messages, only the first person I sent to is listed. The other receivers in the multiple message aren't shown anywhere in MyPhoneExplorer. If I now look at my phone (w810i), I can see separate messages for each person in the Sent Messages list. But not in MyPhoneExplorer, even after Syncing.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,

jg

This "issue" is known. The basic problem is that its technically impossible to save a message with more recipients via software on the phone. So i had to make a decition to
- save many copys of the messages in sent-folder (with the recipients ony by one)
- or to save only the message with the first recipient (as it is now)

@zillertaler
I've just recently upgraded from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003 and synchronised with MPE. Wow! Stunning! Even more reason why MPE is indispensable. I love the way recent updates have allowed 'right click' options to upload files to the phone too.

Have you won any awards for MPE? It certainly deserves recognition!

Thanks, zillertaler.

Since the above way is how it appears in the phone, isn't it also the best way for it to appear in MPE?

As it is now, MPE does not accurately reflect what is in the phone.

@carkitter: The only "Award" i got is the "No Spyware Award" from softpedia . It would be much easier to promote MPE with some awards but i think the sence of the Project is too specific. Only users of SE-Phones can use it. I have thousands of pleased users - thats satisfaction enought for me

@jg: MyPhoneExplorer saves only one sms in the phone with the first recipient and it also saves one item in MyPhoneExplorer with the first recipient. So i think both storages are reflected equal. Did i misunderstood something ?

Definitely have to agree with carkitter, it's indispensable. And MPE has become a major incentive for me to stick to SE.

Perhaps I didn't check my phone properly - I'm sure you are correct

My preferred option would be to save multiple messages, each with a different recipient. That way, at least I have a correct record of messages sent. As it stands, if you send to multiple recipients, what's shown in Sent Items is not accurate.

Multiple messages may increase "clutter", but at least I have the choice about whether to erase them or not.

I know Zillertaller has stated in his forum that he doesn't like Nokia phones. Now we know about Nokia Beta Labs, an admirable project, something we won't ever see from SE. No offense to Tommi Vilkamo and his team but their PC sync efforts look dumb and amateurish to a regular MPE user. It'd be mindblowing if Zillertaller decided one day to tinker with a Nokia 6120...

It couldn't detect my phone for some reason...oh well and it seemed to be so useful too.

What phone are you using? What mode of connection are you using? USB or bluetooth? If you're using USB, make sure you've installed the right drivers, and if you're using bluetooth, I believe you need to ensure that both MPE as well as your phone are using the same COM port.
