@PEZ my M600 is no slower than my HTC Universal and for some functions it is faster as the M600's resolution is lower and therefore the graphics are quicker. The M600i also has much much better sound reproduction.

My M600i is vastly faster and less buggy than my O2 Exec was - and that had the benefit of three firmware updates, and still it couldn't always receive a SMS without crashing, or always ring when someone called.

Bugger it.

Just called Vodafone here in the UK and they have moved the date BACK from the 26th of June to the 12th July.

Arse.

Is this because of the problems people here have been talking about?

@Mr. H. Cancel you Vodafone contract, get a PAC code and call phones2udirect and go for the O2 package that is £30 per month - the total 12 month cost of this package can be less than £300 if you switch to the £16 tariff after 6 months

it seems Symbian 9.xx is still not ready for primetime. reading about all the problems here has completely put me off the M600 for the time being.

a friend has one of the new blokias running Symban 9 as well and so many times, he thought that the phone had hung when sending a text message because it took so long.

in a sense it was reassuring to hear his stories because it seems then that the problem is not the M600 per se but the OS in general.

@verification

Isnt one of the new features of the new OS the flexability of themes. I was under the impression that it would have the ability for operators to be able to customise the whole interface via themes. Tried looking at the Symbian website for the link but i cant find it!

BTW, I downloaded the two new themes (black & white) and I can't get them to work. I tried changing the extension to .utz and that didn't help. When I try to open them in the file manager now, it says the file is damaged. How can I get them to work?

@blasjw - Strange worked fine on my phone. As soon as they downloaded from the SE site, I opened them and they decompressed and installed in the themes menu as expected.

O-k, I got it now. I had to change my location to the UK (M600i is not released for U.S.) and download the themes directly instead of from "My Content".

Does anyone know if the M600i supports over the air Outlook integration (calendar, contacts)?

Has anyone tried the Blackberry Connect client on the M600i? How does it compare to a BB 8700?

Also, there's a Skype implementation due for UIQ? Any word on when?

Where is everyone getting the firmware updates? From the SE.com site?
