all what i know is that Java platform 8 is the newest introduction from sunmicro system. and tbh, these days i don't the time to research about it. i have couple of questions spanning my head:
-what are the basic benefits of JP8 ?
-what type of applications can be introduced?
-thank to this platform, can a security program exist? does this platform offer the possibility to write an application that can password protect the file manager (as an example)
-if all the answers to the aforementioned questions were positive. to what extent does this platform push a phone like k850 toward the level of smartphones ??
thanks in advance

should we open a different thread for i-mobile 902 cam vs k850?
make sure that u put i-mobile in the title, otherwise people will be bumping around with sharp 902, and the entire NTT DoCoMo 902i/S series
maybe we should wait until there are some actual non-prototype photos from the 850i before we begin comparing it

In white papers is written that K850 has Media Player 3.0 - maybe they meant civil non-walkman player...
According to doc from Developer World K850 is not supporting Flash Lite

I hope they will update it soon cause for me such situation is a crime!
It is strange here i support flash lite 2.0
http://developer.sonyericsson[....]s/phonegallery/k850/p_k850.jsp
They also wrote that it has Net Front 3.3 and in the white papres they wrote that it has version 3.4...
It's a big mess with specs

On the other hand Developers guidelines on developers site is about Flash Lite 1.1 - maybe there will be another one about FL 2.0 support...

I don't think so... It would be a big mess with the UI... I think you'll be able to set only shortcuts for nav pad and task menu...

From Eldars Review:
Walkman 3.0. Even though this is obviously an imaging-minded phone and the company doesn’t normally embed latest player version in non-Walkman products, the flagship is this rare exception – we will present you with lowdown on the new Walkman player version in the review of the device, and for now let us highlight new main menu layout, which appears to be styled after Sony PSP and among all other things, now you can quickly compose own playlists.
New functions include Rhythm&Lights, which stands for keypad-based light effects rhythm-keyed with tunes you are listening to – the Sony Ericsson T650i has this feature implemented in the same way. Unlike the K800i, the player here supports TrackID. Upon USB connection you can make use of MTP-protocol, in other words Windows Media Player 10 or 11.

Direct quote from Eldar's review:
"the camera also boasts Xenon flash, which doesn’t make any difference from the Sony Ericsson K800i, marginally increased power aside."
No increase in burst radius?!?
Xumedo, could you possibly do a test of the flash potency and see if they increased the functionality of this? I hope the flash becomes more powerful, because there were many instances where it simply wasn't adequate in the 790/800...

Just realized there are no dedicated music buttons on the sides of the k850.
I know it's not a Walkman phone, but on my k750 i can at least pause/start tracks by just "blindly" reaching into my pocket. Now i will have to take out the phone or buy a bluetooth watch.
