Well to be fair I have a 3GS and hardly use the pinch zoom I prefer the double tap...
You use the keyboard though, right? If you type at any sort of speed then you're probably using multi-touch every time. And I won't bother listing all the games and apps that would be impossible without it, I'd be here for weeks.

pinch zoom is probably not that important on such a small device as double tap to zoom is probably more useful and practical. but as boinng points out, typing on the onscreen keyboard at any real speed definitely requires the use of multi-touch. otherwise it's some very, very careful timing or slow typing.
I for one don't really mind. it's a minor issue for me and I can slow down my typing speeds.

With all due etc, multitouch on a computer is a gadget. Multitouch on a handheld touchscreen phone is a completely different experience, and a whole UI in and of itself.

If you do use multi-touch, you'll be frustrated by the X10, and probably already discounting it. It's that big a deal.

I don't need radio... i use handsfree
i dont' need camera ... i use my slr

jeez !!!
dont' need it doesn't mean x10 should not have it... multitouch screens is the future...16m colors is the future ... and the future is 2010...
that's why your computers have it !! for people want to use this new feature!!

If the future is over complicated bullshit like that then count me out. I can understand the complaint of the screen to an extent but come on multitouch is hardly needed. There is one reason why SE has stayed through the years and will continue to stay. The keep it simple and clean how an effing cellphone is supposed to be, gradually evolving the simple and clean into the modern simple and clean. You want your over confusing technological wizadry go to apple or Samsung or whatever and we'll be here happy with our simple and clean modern day wonders.

I was only talking of pinch zooming. Multitouch is essential for typing text on the screen in a very fast way. That's why I would like a quick upgrade to 2.0.
For me the principal improvement of 2.0 is multitouch typing (I repeat pinch zooming is an epiphenomenon)

That is not true !! When p800 was out back in 2004 it was the "technological wizadry" epitome ... and SE was in 3rd position.... now 6th or 7th ?? help me out
p990 was "gradually evolving the simple and clean into the modern simple and clean" ???? You must be joking right?
(i speak as an owner of p990)

What an absolute crock.
As their abysmal performance over the last few years proves beyond doubt, there is
no reason why SE have stayed "through the years" other than the patience of its two parent companies and some pretty deep pockets, and actually every possibility that they may not last much longer at all.
That aside, to pretend that SE products are "simple and clean" while painting multitouch as "confusing technological wizardry" is just staggeringly, mind-numbingly stupid. Look at Satio, look at the X1, SE's two most recent smartphones - are they "gradually evolved" or "simple and clean"? Like hell they are. Two fudges of the highest order, with UI's that are part SE, part legacy OS, with a double click here and a single click there, here a stylus, there a finger - defend the phones themselves all you like but neither of those UIs is evolved or simple.
Meanwhile, the multitouch you're ignorantly slagging off for the simple reason that SE doesn't have it is actually exactly what you're trying to ascribe to SE - a simple, clean, flowing method of interacting with a touchscreen device. Apple understand that, Android understand that, and because I haven't completely lost faith in them I'm sure that SE understand that too (they just can't do it yet). But you? You're too busy defending the indefensible to have even half a clue...

Yeah, Apple understood the importance of running more than one task at a time, right?
Oh wait...
Multi-touch for zooming is bullshit. Double tap works swell.
Multi-touch for gaming is bullshit. Get some proper buttons or get lost.
Multi-touch for typing fast, I can agree with.

Seriously, sealover, your such a lowlife.
Don't you see, we are sick and tired of your half empty glass ranting about the X10.
It might not be the P800 all over again, but beeing a SEMC device of late, it is a nice freaking change, and it brings alot to the table, wether it doesn't fullfill all your pathetic needs, we don't really care!!!
And don't bother sending me pm's again with threaths and bs, that's for little kids with no life!
Pretty much all the news from it's announcment, the X10 have actually improved it's specs.
Gyro, Video resolution, the amount of colours on the LCD
