I used an s4 about a week ago. The UI was very smooth and overall using the phone felt good and polished. Its like something you get when you use ios. But, I did not like the screen due to the colors. It looked very unnatural, purplish and over saturated for my tastes :S.

Typical Apple. Don't even get me started.
Anyway, nice to see
the gap between iOS and Android widening. Apple certainly deserve to lose ground.

I got an S4 on Friday, used it over the weekend and I will be trading on another forum tomorrow. It is the most uninspiring new handset I have ever used.
I don't post much on here at all but I check in numerous times day and have done for over 10 years. I have seen criticism of Apple and Sony for little or no innovation and while I accept the S4 has the fastest processor and a cracking (with slightly unnatural colours) screen, the reliance on useless software "innovations" to make up for a minimal upgrade on the S3 shows a worrying trend of a "resting on their laurels" approach from Samsung.
I am lucky enough to also own an HTC One and you can certainly see that HTC needed to innovate and improve in the face of Samsungs Galaxy onslaught.......and they have done. This is not an HTC v Samsung comment, but no pressure can result in complacency and Samsung certainly appear to have been complacent in the development of the S4
To me the S4 doesn't feel right to hold and use, but more importantly after 12 months it doesn't even feel like much of an improvement over their last flagship.
Regards
Craig

Which is why I wont be upgrading. I can value the added functionality they've added, but its not the big upgrade I would have wanted if I were due an upgrade.

Just as you said about Nokia being not much of an update. It was not mean't to be as it's a refreshed Lumia 920.

The S4 imo is a decent update though. Brilliant for people upgrading from a S2 for example.
The issue with WP is even the lower end devices seem just as fast and impressive as the flagships. Nokia even put brilliant screens in their budget WP phones.

Yeah, although when Microsoft push this next update out there will be support for 1080p screens and quad core etc. Hopefully soon. That then may change things with flagships having a quad core and dual core at lower end.

I don't even think they have added any useful functionality. It seems to me that they thought they had created the ultimate smartphone in the S3 ( which at the time was a possibility, but little things like having speakers on the front of the handset and being able to actually hear call and notifications is a breath of fresh air. Insignificant software tweaks mean nothing. The advert on UK TV for the S4 at present really sums it up......... group play, showing a team waiting to go out and compete all using S4's and being able to listen to the same tune.......what a load of useless drivel
