That would be awkward because if you're holding the phone vertically, with the swivel open, the positioning of your hand would have your palm over the camera lens.

Then why does P900 have 1200 mAh ? Since S700 has a large screen people will most probably use it a lot for other stuff (like K700) than just talking (movies, games, music etc.) and then 780 mAh will be way to small battery in my oppinion. The reason why the P900 has a battery with higher capacity is most likely because the general power consumption is higher than the S700i.
I fully agree that a 780 mAh battery is too weak for a phone with higher screen resolution than the P900. It might still generate 300 hours of stand-by time in a lab environment, but I fear that the "effective" stand-by time (when using the screen etc) is very low....

When I use my phone to take pics, I hold the phone by the side so my hand would'nt cover up the lens. But it's not going to stop me from buying the phone. It's just an incovience for me because I find myself having to send pics to people that are'nt in my phonebook.

And it's not physically impossible. In fact the S0505i I used in Japan allows you to use the camera with the keypad up or down. when SE decided to release the S700, they must of "magically" disabled this feature

I was saying that is physically impossible not to cover the camera lens (grabbing the phone as usual) with your hand.
That's why i gave the idea of, using it's software, flip the pic vertically when the swivel is open, because the lens is in the keypad part and would be inverted. That way the camera wouldn't have to be disabled.
But people started saying: «noooooooo», «that's stupid», «the hand would cover the lens»... hence, my previous post.

PROBLEM:
No pics when swivel is open. Firmware doesn't allow it.
My suggestion to SE engineers to solve this problem:
Enable the camera always. If the swivel is open, then just invert the pic, flipping it vertically.
You comment to my suggestion:

No pic then!!!!! Don't do anything, just leave the firmware that way!
Some people need to grab the phone with a full hand!
