@Arne Anka

I agree. Until we have an official word on the 'no froyo' issue then everything else is rumour and speculation and people should chill out - at least for the time being.

I can understand why there would be no gingerbread on the X10 but no Froyo? - let's wait and see.

Like someone else has said, if SE are about to launch the successor to the X10 (rumoured to be called Cliaro) and it is launching with Froyo then we could understand why SE might want to have Cliaro launch with Froyo, to ensure sales, then upgrade the X10 later on.

Personally, if the above is the case then I think they should update the X10 with Froyo now and have faith that this won't steal any of Cliaro's thunder and let the new device succeed without the 'helping hand' of delaying the X10 update.

While I don't disagree that SE would do this, it's damn disrespectful to all the people that supported them in buying the X10. They are technically saying "yeah we just want new customers because we already have these people in our laps" and that's a terrible way to run a business. They'll never gain loyalty that way.

This is not the attitude, . I don't know what you're thinking but to limit your customers of getting the most out of their mobiles is not the way. You can't sacrifice them for an upcoming device which we don't know whether it'll see the day of the sun or not.

You need to trust in your devices regardless you've put a lot of money in it. It all depends how good is or was its predecessor.

Feel much better now.

I agree with you that they won't win loyal fans with this behaviour in the long term. But I don't think loyalty is their prime concern at this stage in a come back. X10 has been out for a week under 6 months, in land of the 2 year network contract that isn't long. If you look at it as an isolated handset, ignoring what other manufacturers are doing, after 6 months we will have gone from android 1.6 to 2.1 and possibly 6 months after that we would have gone up again to 2.2, making two major software upgrades in 1 year is not bad going.

When you look at what other manufacturers are doing, that they are releasing new handsets with higher specs and newer OSes that's what makes people angry I think. If the market wasn't moving forward and the phone that we bought to be top of the market was going to be top of the market for two years then no-one would moan, but of course the market moves and it moves quickly. We all bought the X10 knowing it only had 1.6 but that the upgrade to 'the latest OS' (at that time it was 2.1). We all knew that in the OS it as behind when we bought it.

Of course will put more effort into a new handset than a 6 month old one. They are still playing catch-up on specs and selling of new handsets is where they make their money (which is how they will afford the team for porting 2.2 to the X10).

Don't get me wrong I'm p***ed too, but trying to add some perspective.

On a lighter note, I don't think these SE product testing videos have been posted here - sorry if they have.

it is not a problem as it is a big annoying thing:
every time i move all the camera pictures from the phone to the pc, the file name to the new pictures will start from number 1 and so on, instead of continuing the count from the last picture taken before the backup.
how can i fix this?
anyone else experiencing this?

Just leave the last photo & video in your memory card after a transfer. That will keep the continuity of the numbering.

@Rookwise
You can use Astro file manager to create playlists AFAIK eventhough I've never tried it myself.

i will keep that in mind next time ,
thank you.

Well you can always hope.

But now I see strategy clearly.
They did the same with X1 -> X2.
X1 was never upgraded to WM6.5 however it could. X2 was never upgraded even if it has some cruical problems.
Shame.

So now 70% of all the best Android devices is 2.2. is extremely late with 1.6 -> 2.1 upgrade.
When 2.2 is a standard and next gen round the corner.

So you dream and hope that while working heavily on next Android devices having limited development crew
will work their asses to bring you 2.2 to X10, and kill the sales of the next Android?

Never.
