The touch pen is bit more advanced than Samsung's S-Pen. Uses friction-based haptic feedback

True, after all he's here only because he is interested in Sony devices.

@nightwing

At the same time, I also expect you to stop asking questions on things that have already been cleared. Hardly 3 pages are added daily to this thread, I'm sure you have at least 5 mins to go through 3 pages.

And as for your last question, yes it will be a "surprise announcement".

@randomuser

Judging from my bad luck in the past, this surprise announcement will happen the day after I have finally decided to get the Z and bought it already, which may happen towards the end of the month.

The supposed better ip rating, the removable battery and the smaller size are very tempting for the Dogo. I'm just not sure if this all becomes true or if I should just get the Z. If only I knew the exact specs and release date

I hope Sony won't put that shatterproof film on the next phones since Gorilla Glass or Dragontrail alone is strong enough and also add an oleophobic coating, or at least make the film both shatterproof and scratch resistant with the oleophobic coating.

I wish Sony use similar and slimmer one in the up coming Phablet .. Hopefully there will be port for it , Don't Like the idea of External accessory .

BTW Duo 11 Screen is absolutely incredible !

Appears that Sony filed a patent for this last November

http://www.engadget.com/2012/[....]haptic-feedback-stylus-patent/

a stylus which instead uses artificially generated friction to make it harder or easier to move across the screen........this stylus-based haptic feedback, including being able to feel yourself "carving and molding" 3D objects in a design application, or understanding your character is "fatigued or damaged" while playing a game......Sony's approach would potentially bring a whole new layer of interaction.

Randomuser, apart from the friction based haptic feedback, the pen will be like the one on the note, wacom based or with some wacom abilities?
