Apparently a lot of features have be back ported from 2.2 to the upcoming 2.1 update. There are three features I'd like to see in that group; Flash 10.1, browser speed updates and Wi-Fi tethering (??forgot the technical term but turning your phone into a wifi hotspot for mobile internet connection is going to be very useful to me).

I can't help but think that porting 2.2 to the X10 must be more difficult than it is to say. I personally think the lack of multi-touch is a major factor holding it back.

As for stopping any new device development until the X10 gets 2.2, I must disagree with you there. The problem may take months to sort out and get right and ready for release. Setting back a new device by however long it takes to support an older device is business suicide. With new devices from competitors coming need to make sure their own devices are hot when they hit or the hard sales the X10 has put in to resurrecting the company will have gone to waste as the hardware ages against new competitors. For the company they only have one choice on this matter, if they did it the other way round we'd see no X10 successor and endless bug fixes and speed improvements for dead donkey's like Satio and X2.

+1 and well put
Not too fussed about Flash 10 ... would rather went down the HTML 5 route as it's
much "lighter" on systems than flash is.

Is it 2.1 or 2.2 that has the ability to run apps off the memory card? I just want that.

Dead donkeys I love it even it hurt my deep down feelings

As currently SATIO user speed is now fine as resistive unit screen with latest official firmware update last ....... errr I won't remember that so longgggg
but update some feature like Nokia did to their handset, that's what I asking for even it little it still good as still care buyer
but the truth ....... everyone see it right?

I think X10's user will get 2.2 via some modder from XDA if won't put effort to after 2.1 going official soon.
Yes, I mean it with latest Timescape I think it able to port too but it would take some time.

Sorry, if my post bother you cuz it little fuzzy I know it

@goldenface I know you didn't, I didn't mean to infer that. but surely concentrating on 2.2 for X10 would slow down other developments.

@Muhammad-Oli 2.2 supports apps from the microSD (which I just got a 32GB one of )

@HxH don't worry about your English I can understand what you mean.

I'm not holding my breath for 2.2. I'd bet that over in the Aino forum they're moaning that still haven't released a FW version which enables full touch screen use or just ported Yendo's OS over, Aino is only 1 year old! I also bet that X1 users forum is moaning that they haven't got the WinMo 6.5 update that X2 has and they have identical hardware!

P.S. As a previous Aino user, imagine X10 mini FW on Aino sleek beauty and 8MP cam... It makes me want to get it out and port it myself!

An android phone with a qwerty keyboard....finalllyyyyyy (desire z) if only SE cme out with it

Err...SE has had a qwerty keyboard android in the market for quite a while now. X10 mini pro ring a bell?

Come on man you being serious??how are you meant to browse websites on that thing.....its hardly a power house of a phone is it

Oh, so now it's android phone with qwerty keyboard, big screen with great surfing experience and powerful processor. That's hardly what you mentioned originally SE beat HTC to it regardless. It's ok, everyone makes embarassing little mistakes like that
