I had a hotmail account once, but due to my definate need to not get 100 mails advertising Vi@ra (has to be said that way) I used it for two months, and dumped it. Got a webmail account, which served me well, but that went bang about a month ago in the reliability sense, but at that stage my G-mail account had already been made my main account and the webmail account I use when I want to make contact with possible harmful consequences(in case I am corresponding about things like MLI and so forth) Don't want my G-mail spammed. I still get my V!agr@ mails, but they go into my spam folder straight away, thanks google. Ah yay, I won another lottery....5 million pounds...sheeze! lots of money! OBOY OBOY! Together with the other 7 that I won, I can start my own recording studio, software development house, and still have enough left over to buy Zimbabwe twice!

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, I made a long post on Friday, but as you guys might have realised with my obvious anger directed at telkom(let's never use a capitol T in that name) my post went GONE! LOST! So yeah, I blame the only devil we know in this country...

Now to catch up on my losses:
@ Brix, concerning the pc thing, Blue-ray = No-no....Even if it succeeds, drives using it will be 20x the price in the beginning, and 100 times as slow as a snail...let the technology succeed and evolve, then head over that way if it is worth it...DVD has more than enough space at the moment...AMD or Intel, my choice would be intel, as I don't just play games, I make music, I write, do graphics, record tv and audio, surf the net, just about anything. AMD are traditionally more for gamers, but then again, the field might have been levelled at this point, I am not sure. I work at an IT company, we tend to use Intel.

About the debranding, DaVinci and stuff like that, maybe a bunch of us should buy some credits and use that...I seriously need to get mine de-Vodafone'd...anyone know how to remove the logo on my phone itself other than using Tipp-ex? lol!

I will put a cork in it for now, lots more to say, but this is getting way too long...

Congrats, KBR, i hope that you're having a brilliant day, and that there'll be loads more!

@Mario, sorry to hear about what's happened, boet. I'm glad to see that you've taken it in stride. It's a sad day when we need strong passwords to secure even a relatively low-security site like this...

@Rhino8: Tough luck mate, went to enquire at Vodashop last night about the K800, the stock they've got is all branded...they removed the CyberShot logo with an ugly red one from Vodafone.
Yes, the K800 can be updated over the air
@786KBR: Congrats bro, hope you enjoy the day.

I have an amd (home) and an intel (work).

In all areas, my amd comes out tops despite the intle having much higher specs. I do graphics (its my job), music (my passion) and play games.

I used to swear by intel. (then again I did the same about nokia... sheesh)

While on our 'To Boldly Go Where No Wanqsta Has Gone Before' Tour of the UK, I took these 2 delightful pics of UK car number plates. As you can see, this dude's knowledge of Afrikaans is obviously and understandably zero...otherwise he might have not paid to have this customised number plate for his BMW M3... :

Taken with the P900 en route to Exeter:

...and then in the Highlands county of Scotland, this one below also stopped for petrol... (note that UK car number plates' backgrounds are white for the front of the car and yellow for the rear.)

Taken with the Nokia 3230 this time:

@ 786KBR,
Have a bril birthday!

Well that is quite bad news bout the k800 on voda, but i am sure as time goes by i will find one that is not branded... If i cant, a firmware upgrade and a new housing would fix that. I am just really tired of this ugly vodafone crap all over the phone. (Do i hear any "i told you so`s" in the background?) I even considdered covering some of the branding on my v600 with the virgin mobile stickers i found in my starter kit.

On the subject of virgin, a few things i can compliment on.
1)General speed using gprs (not edge) is quite impressive after getting used to slowdacom.
2) Customer care answers within seconds of phoning (Not a large user base yet tho)
3) Paying R0.50/MB vs R2.00 is waaayyy cool.

I had a play with the k800 at the vodashop and i've gotta say this phone is awesome. It oozes class and elegance. I've convinced my girlfriend to switch from nokia and i'm sure she'll finally realise the joy of using an se phone.
Btw it's R750 on a weekender package. Not bad. The voda branding is quite annoying but you get used to it after a while. The first major firmware release for this phone is coming in the next week. Enjoy.
