I would literally cry out of joy if they announce Z4 Ultra )). I would stroll around with a bag of ice even though SD810 overheats. I believe there will be Z4 a mid ranger and a low end plus the tablet. No more.

Well perhaps the Z4 tablet is coming, with a Z5 tablet at IFA but that would be rather redundant, unless the IFA tablet would be a 12 inch device?

I think the reason why Sony may be using 2 separate stands for MWC is they may want to separate the Z4 range from the lower to middle tier range ie the E and M devices in one hall and the Z4 range in another and as we know 2 new model numbers have popped up recently which could be low to mid range devices and with models numbers of the Z4 and a new tablet surfacing that could very well be the case.

Sony sold 11.9 million smartphone in Q4 CY14 on sales of around 430 million yen(about $3.7 billion). Average selling price is around $310. Not bad imo.

Could Sony be introducing another SmartBand? Model number SWR12 has just shown up at the FCC.

We're still in early feb. bro

The point is, every other major maker are delaying, Samsung already delaying the update for Note 4 even thought it's the newest flaggy, The old S4 ( Exynos version ) started to be updated in Russia few days ago. HTC also stated that they can't fulfill their promise of the HTC M8 update ( not all versions/regions, not only limited versions/regions started to get the update )...

AFAIK, both Samsung and Sony are working on new UI, HTC only doing updates...
Incase of Sony, the new UI is one of the reasons for this delay, in case of Samsung they want to finish some promised features in their new phones, that's why the old S4 is updated and the new Note 4 still.

Sony definitely need to step up as far as software update goes.
My Xperia Z3 hasn't even received the update that was released in early december.
I really don't like having my phone locked to a provider for that reason.
So hopefully the Xperia Z4 will come in at least 32GB memory to unlock phones.

I agree. I'll never buy an branded handset again, because of the delayed updates.

I'm expecting the 5.0 update sometime in the next week or so and by the looks of the new updated Walkman icon, Sony has been working on the UI. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Nice to see a jump in sales for Q4 too.The Z3 series was well received, especially the Z3C, which has no real competition in its segment.

Rushing the 5.0 update would not be wise, especially if Sony will be including new features for the camera software. A major update to the camera software and algorithm is what I am hoping for. RAW support would be nice, hopefully Sony adds it. Algorithm update with better noise control is definitely something Sony needs to work on. Manual controls, not sure how likely this is, ISO is a given, but I want to select the ISO, up to 12800 or whatever the max will be on my Z1. Shutter control, can now be controlled with the new APIs, so I honestly feel Sony has no excuse not to add it, except laziness or sheer douchebagery. I am not expecting all new camera features to hit my Z1, if any appear I will be surprised.

As for the UI changes, those do not matter to me, the current UI is fine and I have no complaints.
