what a stupid "review". even the comments rip it apart.
Day 2 with my XZP. LOVING it. I find myself watching 4K vids a lot and just admiring that screen. It is truly magnificent.

You guys and your impressions of the phone is seriously making me want to whip out my credit card right this instant, and make the purchase.
Was hoping to wait until at least the end of this month or early next month to decide. Maybe by then, any, or most, manufacturing issues would be taken cared of.
It's really a pity that I could not play with the phone in person in the US. If I could, it would make my decision faster.

@MNX - take the plunge! you won't regret it! I have had zero issues. This phone is a dream to use. There are no camera distortions either as far as i can tell. i've taken several pictures of geometric shaped things to see if there's any issue but all seems good to me.

Great to hear!
I thought it's an issue for all devices.
Would you mind sharing the image with grid?

@MNX do it, you'll not regret it, it's the best phone on the market IMO.

so i snapped some photos of lines and grids to see if there's any real distortion. we have to remember, the XZP has a 25mm wide angle lens. So, seeing some barrel distortion is normal. That being said, I don't really notice much barrel distortion. If anything, I can notice a very slight pin cushion type distortion on some of the horizontal lines near the top and bottom edges of the frame. I don't notice anything with the vertical lines or diagonal lines that go straight through the frame. The Z1 shows similar slight distortion for horizontal lines. For comparison, I also took photos of the same grid with my Z1, Xperia S, and my Nikon d70s dSLR at 25mm.
First the grid:
XZP @ 25mm
Z1 @ 27mm
XS
Nikon D70s @ 25mm
Other real world(ish) shots with XZP:
let me know what you guys think.

At a quick glance they look fine to me, no issues at all with mine either.

I think they look fine to me too. nothing out of the ordinary for a 25mm wide angle equivalent lens.
now... has anyone found a good screen protector? or am i going to have to settle for an old school TPU one vs. a glass one..

There are some slight distortion on the top and bottom surrounding the center, but not in the center or noticeable anywhere else. To me, this is negligible, not some high end full frame lens. Even then, there's some distortion for those lens. This is nowhere near as bad as my faulty Z1.
