amazon has posted their preorder but their item page doesn't seem to include the free gift. Not sure if amazon is a sony authorized dealer.
similarly, b&H photo have posted their preorder deal with the free gift. $1198. Still waiting to see what the UK bundles are and how much...
but I also worry about not having a warranty for a phone that costs so much.

damn. i would much rather have the XM3s than the buds.
ordering from the UK would be more expensive for me with the conversion rate AND no warranty. doesn't seem like it's worth it. wonder if i can negotiate an exchange with an american retailer for the headphones...

Techradar also published their review, which is something a 10 year old geek can published. For godsake Sony, don't bother sending your phones on biased sites who loves sponsorship.
Give me the f**kin phone and it will probably have more views and I will give a proper review.
Probably, Sony did not give them any sponsorship.
I think it's very neutral review. They are not enthusiastic about it but fair and square but super shallow.
Welcome to Esato Mate
Reviews are typically seen as biased if they are balanced, if they even have a shred of criticism of a Sony phone then they are seen as biased and wanting payment/sponsorship etc...
So far I have seen really great reviews, nobody is bashing the phone, they have pointed out it clear flaws like it’s smaller battery and lower Refresh rate display, while also praising its great feature set and Sony’s boldness for not always following trends but setting their own.
The main issue now is does Sony have the balls to put some real marketing behind this product? THAT is where the 1 II is going to fail or succeed. It’s up to Sony.

Hello there Tsepz_GP.
I don't really care about the criticism Sony gets from reviewers. In fact, constructive criticisms are good for the company.
My point is the review of Techradar lacks in depth analysis of the features, and hardware of the phone. It's as if they've made the review for the sake of just to have one like a student who hastily made his homework for the sake that he has one. It lacks quality and effort in my opinion.
P.S. Sorry for hurting your feelings though for thinking I am against any form of criticism for Sony. I agree that I have misused the word "biased".

I plan to get it from
www.clove.co.uk - it comes with a 2 year warranty (although it has to be shipped to them if anything happens).

What 5G bands will the non-US phones have? I wonder if they will with with TMO 5G in the US.

@XPR - where did you see a 2 year warranty? Their international customer FAQ states that all warranty claims should be sent to the manufacturer first. But sony does not have a global warranty. I didn't seem to catch anywhere that says Clove will warrant it for 2 years. Can you link me?
@Bialynia - 5G bands are clearly posted on the spec sheet. No US carriers support those sub6 bands at this time. All US carriers are rolling on mmwave networks and started rolling out some sub6 networks last year. But the bands still seem to be different from what is supported by the 1ii. If you don't even have a 5G enabled plan, then it doesn't matter. I'm on AT&T but they only offer 5G to unlimited plan customers, which I am not. So, 5G support doesn't really mean anything to me and probably won't for at least 2 years, after which i'll be looking at new phones again anyway.
