I'm half sold after watching the new UI video. My other half is of course it's browser capability.

But of course this doesn't matter unless it gets release sometime mid November because I'm in a dire need for a new phone because I need something that can replace my soon to be taken ipod(by my mother, lol).

Currently I'm opting for the N900, if it isn't for this situation, I would actually hold out to see if the racheal is any good.

Let's hope se is first to market wih liquid optical lens

What is/are the advantage/s of liquid optical lens over commonly used lens nowadays?

Imagine making a phone with the power of CMOS chip from the Satio, while giving it Optical zoom (say 3x/5x/10x) WITHOUT giving it a huge hump or battery draining mechanical assembly (that also adds considerable weight) all the while in a device as slim as the C510.

Liquid Optical lens is VERY close to how the human eye works ... when no power its flat! When a specific voltage or whatever - power - is applied (and regulated) the liquid becomes semi pneumonia and curves/domes to form the zoom - like our eyes are domed. This doesn't mean that the liquid will be exposed to dirt ... it will be under either glass or high quality plastic for protection and dirt deterent. AND this uses LESS power than existing cellphone camera setups!!

That's good to hear. I was not too keen about the optical zoom in a phone because of thickness. Knowng SE, we might not see a device sporting this technology anytime soon. But I keep my fingers crossed. Like the their new slogans says: Make believe.

I want to see SE going back to the old days (and those of Ericsson) where they pioneered many new things. Actually, so did Motorola back in the 1990s. How things change.

I see how ahead of the game both the T68 and P800 were and always figured SE would be the first to do everything. They have, to a point, but have lacked the innovation in recent years. And the 'Entertainment unlimited' seems to have been an idea thought up AFTER the phones that have been released (U1 and U10) were already in the final stages - hence a number of issues that hardly take either beyond Cyber-shot or Walkman, and other things like no 3.5mm headphone jack (or microUSB) etc.

Next year will hopefully see devices where the new concept is fully put into practice - and then maybe we'll see real innovation.

Yeah their new slogan is not the smartest if read without the period between the two words. I want reality not something dreamt up but I get where their coming from making fantasy products into reality.

This technology has been trualed and tested already for the past 2yrs and exists in a desktop USB Internet cam. RIM has been heavily rumored to be looking into this for a product to be released by end of 2010; I've made serious posts over at BBForums hoping for this in the past.

could have a much better solution we're unaware of but it would seem that they're direction Now is sound unlike that of Nokia currently. I prefer Symbian because of the power and proven ability in mobile but the UI has got to change!

Entertainment Unlimited needs to be just that, evolve and offer entertainment anywhere and not just on the device. SE has great design and success with accessories and I'd love to see it create car stereo connectors, home stereo connectors and revise the BT watch again making it thinner, more functional, and multiple-Colored as well. RIM is making such a watch and SE should give them a kick in the nada if they have a patent on it which I think they do.

X2 is targeted at a certain market that puts me square in the cross hairs but I also wan what I'm loving on my 3GS already which Rachel potentially offers. I'll wait and see for the next few months.

This is the only phone i would consider replacing my iPhone with, however because of SEs shocking build quality in the past i dont think i will.

[edit]Have they ditched the fastport with this? If they have i could well be tempted again.
