It mainly overnight when i charge mine. So this seems to be normal that the phone fully charges then turns the charging circuit off and starts to run on battery instead of staying full.
Thhis is strange as my mini and mini pro charge to 100% and stay on 100% until i disconnect the charger.

If you set up your Gmail account via the built in client (red envelope) it doesn't show up in Timescape. I've asked SE about this, since the phone has Googles OS Android and I think it should be this client shown in Timescape per default with the possibility to choose in Timescape to show the other client. If you set up your e-mail using the e-mail client (white envelope) then you get your mail in Timescape, but if you have a Gmail account (who hasn't?) you get the best output using the red envelope. If you set up your Gmail using both clients you have solved the problem, but then you will receive double notifications for every email (anoying!).
I hope the upcoming OS updates will bring this to order.

Imo its a bad idea. You don't start the day with a full battery.
I wonder if there's a cut off where the phone will turn the charging circuit back on when the battery reaches a certain level.

Yes there is. I saw that once. I'm not sure but it is around %85 IMO.

I don't really give a crap about HD filming or multi touch or whatever 'specs race' oneupmanship that some people care because they think it makes their X10 inarguably 'better' than other Android devices.
But I do care that more and more apps cannot be supported on my X10's aged Android Version: Buzzvoice, Neer, WorldMate etc etc
Sony Ericsson need to give me post 2.0 Android on my X10 or I am going to go to a manufacturer that does, simple as that.

Re: charging
Its usualy due to some app, with me it due to the built-in Email app which i had set to poll hourly, so what would happen is that my X10 would reach 100% at some point while im asleep then cut off the charging circuit, i would wake up with my phone sitting at around 94-96%, polling of email apps takes quite a lot of batt, im now using K-9 Mail which supports push email, so the phone doesnt have to keep checking for new emails, i now wake up with 100% daily or atleast 98% if i recieved a bunch emails, but on average 100% as my emails are never that large.

I only use the in-built Gmail app with push emails and charge overnight, I always wake up with >98%. The charger does cut off when the battery is full, I guess it's to stop overheating, but I think it kicks back in quite quickly. I thought it came back in at around 98% for a quick burst top-up, but maybe it's more like 90%.
Oh, I do have the 'Email' app setup so I get my emails into timescape too, but I have it to manual fetch emails as I don't really use Timescape, only to show off to my sis on her C903 and my mum on her Nokia 5800.

When I charge mine at night. I turn internet off so there's no data traffic being used so this shouldn't be a problem for the battery drain.
Another thing is if i turn the phone off. It turns back on when charging. The mini and mini pro don't do this.
