Hey guys, I went from a branded Rogers (canada) firmware to another one branded as 3 Planet (UK). Rogers one had many blocked features. But anyways I now have the R1CA029 firmware.

I heard a new firmware came out today but when I go to the SEUS it says no updates are available. I really want to get the generic firmware on my phone and also the old firmware is way too buggy.

Any help in this regard?!

Where did you hear that a new firmware came out today??? This is plain spreading rumors I think - there hasn't been a newer release than R1EA037 as far as anyone on this board has seen. If you're stuck on R1CA029 most likely something in the firmware is such that SEUS can't give you a newer firmware - you'll have to use a third party tool to flash it (and I recommend changing the base of the firmware to either unbranded or something fairly generic while you're at it). I recommend Davinciteam.com < very easy to use. I would recommend staying AWAY from wotan based on my previous experience and other problems I have read on this board.

Hey all can anyone confirm if the problem with the dust behind the lens cover was only on older models and not any newer ones?

Thanks

Just got BROD on 37. Upgraded as soon as it was available.

Just to clarify because people will take this and go with it anyway they want - You mean R1EA037 and not R1CA037 right?

Check page 1 - From what I gather, EA is based on 031 in attempt to get rid of the BROD issues but it still exists so they failed on that part

Hmm.

My K850 has always been a stinking turd of a phone; now it's a stinking turd of phone that doesn't work...

f/w updated to 037, phone seems a little faster. Then the (in)famous BROD. Try to update with SEUS, it finds the phone, but that's that.

Bloody thing then dies totally. Just a red LED under the on/off button. Kulankendi can't find it. Suppose there's nothing to do but to send the damn thing back to where it came from (hell, I supect, or the local cheap-chinese-crap-shop?)

Any of you chaps/ladies have other ideas about how I can rescue it without sending it back? Suggestions along the lines of stamp on it/throw it into the canal/burn it are welcome, although not especially helpful in the circumtances
