maybe you should learn little about photo technique .
its nothing wrong with k850 camera, actually i think its one of the best 5 M.P cameras of all cell phones.

(remember, even a cheap 2 M.P camera can produce good pics if you know how to do )

"its nothing wrong with k850 camera". Incorrect.

I'm a photographer and I still get poor photos from the phone. Several issues cause this, mostly from poor design and not firmware:

Light sensor gets dirty too easily.
Dust gets under light sensor and can't be cleaned.
Phone attracts fingerprints including on lens plastic (this is where the slider design on the K750i was good). This has to be cleaned every time you go to use camera.
Colours are not properly reproduced by phone camera.
Poor design also makes it too easy to block the light sensor.

Also, you will only get the quality of what the lens can produce no matter how many megapixels the sensor has.. and the lens in the phone is no-where near the quality of any half decent digital camera.

did i meantion the two last firmwares ??? ( i only said that nearlly all low end cameras need some skill(tecnique) to get good quality).

you cant blame the camera because the pic-quality is shit on some of your pictures, especially when other people get good pictures with exact same camera & cam driver !! (of course it can be something wrong with your camera, but that is quite seldom i think )
(i could easily agree if "everyone" got bad pics, then its a total different story)

and yes, im 100% sure that new 037 is the best firmware, (espeially when i compare to the other i had...029 and old 037, who was terrible buggy & slow)

@ Wild Child: I am no longer interested to contact them about this subject. They will keep denying or avoiding a straight answer. Since their statement was that the last version is R1DA, those pictures mean nothing - hell, they can even say that is a custom/third party/whatever-crosses-their-mind FW version, NOT released by SE. Not even a movie clip showing the whole event of a phone getting BROD won't make them admit the wrongdoing.

By the way, can anybody check if SEUS still offers updates to R1EA031 or R1EA037? Mine says I have the latest (R1DA038), which strangely coincide with what they wrote in the e-mail.

Me too, so I looked into software that would add a date stamp afterwards!
This was the best, and it works very well!

It's the blue sky that is turning to purple the main color problem with the K850's camera

Absolutely spot on, but you'll have to conceed that a phone camera at this stage of their development is always going to be second best to a dedicated camera. So you can't complain it's a bad camera when you yourself realises a hugh amount of pic quality comes from the lens.

Quick snapping for the moment is what phone cameras do best. If you want to take decent quality pics, get a proper camera. The size of a phone (K850, Viewty, N95 etc) is generally smaller than even the most compact of cameras that produce decent pics. So you simply can't expect the technology implemented in proper cameras to be in a unit that's a phone, camera, mp3 player, organiser etc etc.

You have to draw the line somewhere and realise the K850, N95, N82, Viewty are on a par with a very cheap digital camera maximum.

Onto firmware - I'm on R1DA038. No idea how old it is, but it's been utterly stable. The pics aren't a million miles better than the K800 bar at night. Chuck the pics quickly through Aperture/iPhoto/Picassa etc with some quick level adjustments and they're very acceptable.

How old is the R1DA038 firmware now?

So i fixed my BROD using davinci, but could only flash it to BROD-sensitive fw (031 , EA037)..
So now i'm back on R1EA037 and SE better release a BROD-free fw before i get the BROD again or I will _NEVER_ go back to SE, even if their phones are better

Why couldn't you go further back than 031? I was able to flash from 031 to R1CA037 back in February using DaVinci...

because i could only flash to USA 037 fw.
All europe were 031+
I considered going to USA 037 USA, but apart from future SEUS problems I would also have to deal with all the bugs.
So im just hoping i can make it until the new fw:(
